I think this has a lot to do with the fact that I was raised by a kiwi and grew up on marmite and cheese. Most people from the UK like it too and aussies like their vegemite.
I feel like a trator. I''m a New Zealander and kiwis are sposta like Marmite but......I think vegemite is so much nicer

Marmite is good on instant noodles, no kidding.

All this from mentioning my DH loves Marmite - wow. I don''t eat it personally, unless I am feeling a bit ill strangely. There are about five jars open in my house at the moment

wow! i'd never thought of that. am thinking that might be worth a try :)

my husband, who is the promite addict in our household, would, i suspect, LOVE promite on instant noodles.

ETA lol! i just suggested promite on noodles to him - and his eyes lit up...

British kids are brought up on marmite soldiers and dippy eggs, that's why we're all healthy as horses! I've never had flu!

Marmite is fantastic, had it for breakfast this morning. Cool toast, lashings of butter and marmite - yum-scrum!!

And then for a treat there's Twiglets
* vigorously nods in agreement at all of the above*

We were at the grocery store last night, and while we were waiting in the check-out line, J looked over and saw rows and rows of Marmite (and Vegemite, surprisingly!), and went (just like Homer Simpson), "Mmmmmmmm...Marrrmite..." I immediately thought of this thread and how good his timing was.

Then there is the Rolls Royce of the Marmite experience - not for the faint hearted (like Moh)

Crumpets with Marmite

For those days when we fancy a change from slugs and snails and puppy dog tails.....
Mmmmm crumpets. I like mine with Golden Syrup. I really want crumpets now. :-( And I want Watties Tomato Sauce. And spaghetti on toast. And Jet Planes. And winegums. And pineapple and cheese sandwiches. And belgium w/ tomato sauce (even though I don''t eat meat).

Sorry. Pregnant and longing for NZ.

I''ve *tried* to like any or all of the -mites. I just can''t do it. BF prefers Marmite, as he grew up Vegetarian and it''s made by Sanitarium. The way it tastes to me is inappropriate to put into words on a public forum.

Bahaha u can''t stop eating the new vegemite???

FI was sceptical but he fell in love as soon as he tried it! He says the only downside is that the vegemite now looks very muddy

Ok...I got the marmite and crumpets today and tried it tonight. I toasted the crumpets and buttered it and put a small amount of marmite on top for my DH and I.

He said it was interesting, a bit salty...unusual. I really enjoyed thed crumpet. The marmite, I didn''t think I put alot on it, but it was definitely salty. I would try again, maybe it''ll grow on me.

I''m going to try it on ramen and see if I like that (thanks Harriet!)..
