What style would suggest for a RHR, YG, short stubby “fat” fingers?

My mom’s friend is on the hunt! She describes her hands as “short and fat” and is looking for an elegant, understated, but dressy, right hand ring. Yellow gold. She doesn’t know her ring size (yet) but I’m guessing the middle finger or forefinger would be size 8 or 9.

She’s divorced and misses dressing up with a nice ring. Her style and her hands are the opposite of mine in every way, so I’m kind of clueless on what would work! Any ideas?

My fingers are longer, but my ring size is probably similar to your friend’s. This is my Bev K band in 18k yellow gold, which I often wear as a RHR. My right ring finger size is 7.5, but the band is an 8 because it’s wide and I like them to fit a bit loose. Hope this helps! 8)

@Irishgrrrl irl, I love that band!

But, @pearaffair I was thinking your friend might look for something that elongates the finger a bit. I wasn't clear on whether you are thinking about a ring with a stone or stones, but something with more of a marquis, pear, oval shape, whether that is a stone or just the shape of the ring itself.

Honestly, with good bling you don't see the fingers anymore bahaahha

stones? no stones? budget? my fingers are kind of stubby and i find i like either wide rings or very narrow rings, but those in the middle look kind of meh on me.

for all YG i think the gucci diamantissima rings are nice for all metal RHR, they come in different widths and thicknesses...it's not a brand i would normally think of for rings but these are cute and don't scream GUCCI.

And something wide but delicate like Tiffany's bow or infinity rings would probably look great on her if she likes that style.

But most of all, I think she should wear what makes her happy and not worry about her hands! Good on you for helping her out with the shopping. =)

Is she looking to wear it on her middle or forefinger or her ring finger? And does she want stones? If she wants stones I'd probably say a 5 or 7 stone ring if she wants to wear on her ring finger.

Haha I love these ideas! Thanks!!! I'm going to talk to her and get a better idea of what she's looking for. Bludiva - I think your tiffany idea is going to suit her really well!

Hand short of my EC RHR on my chubby finger and hand.
I wear a 5mm band with an east-west EC about 0.48ct instead on casual days.
IMHO, chubby fingers need rings that are wide with good coverage as a narrow/thin ring would emphasise the puffiness of the finger.

Here is a pic of the large EC in its original setting before it was transferred to the new forever home. I was never too keen with is original setting as it did not look right on my chubby finger.

My word - these bands are fantastic! Do consider a gorgeous gemstone RHR as a possibility. That could also be an option, Pear Affair. if the wearer enjoys a little color.
