i have it narrowed down to two stones, i have been reading this site for a while but was wondering if i could get some help on what some of you might pick.

Stone 2

Fluorescence Strong Blue

now the decision i have seen both stones side by side #2 has a little bit more sparkle and you can see a bit more fire but no one other that me who looks at it will see the difference, and i am scared off by the flourecence. the #1 looks vary clear has the smallest fleck of carbon that can be seen with the loupe and side by side color looks very close and it sparkles very well in indoor normal room lighting. Stone 2 is $800.00 more.
Any ideas on which ones you might pick would be awesome.
thanks so much
dan

Frankly, I'd get this beautifully-cut 1.013 ct G VS2 for $6710.

Need more info on the IGI stone.

Hi Dwiebe

With the first there is the chance of a durability issue with that crown angle and girdle combination so be very careful there, with the second more info is needed such as depth, table, angles and so on.

thanks for the replys..i would go for something like that ideal stone kenny but it is double what im paying for either of these.
what do you mean a problem with durability?

The shallow crown angle coupled with the very thin girdle could mean the diamond''s girdle is at increased risk of chipping, you would need to ask an expert to evaluate this for you.

That first stone is pretty shallow, which also means you''re not going to get a great sparkler. "Cut" is one of the 4 Cs for a reason, and that one isn''t anywhere near ideal. However, I also understand budgetary constraints. Is that magic 1 carat mark an imperative for you or your girlfriend?

yes the 1ct is a big deal to her unfortunately because a smaller stone would look as big as her ring is only a size 3.
i have contaced IGI and they are sending me a copy of the full report so hopefully i can post all the specs, should i be worried about flourecence as it would only show in black light? i cant see any cloudiness or oily texture under the 10x loupe.
is igi antwerp fairly reliable i know theyre no GIA but within 1 grading i would suspect
thanks

Talked with IGI today and got the rest of the specs on diamond 2, i know its not ideal cut but it doesnt look all that bad when comparing to the charts in the information section on PS. Please let me know what you guys think of this cut.
thanks so much
