What size hole for 2mm leather cord?

Hi, I hope this is an okay thing to post here, but I am going to try making my own casual necklace from leather cord and some 10-11mm baroque loose pearls. Can someone please tell me what size holes I should have drilled in the pearls for a 2mm cord? Thanks!

I have no idea as I’ve never tried but maybe the seller of the pearls would know?

cut the end of the leather into an angle to help with threading.

Whatever size you need for the grommets
And definitely use grommets to protect the edges of the drill holes

Leather is not going to damage the edges of the drill holes. By all means use grommets of any design or size over 2mm if that is the look you want. But if you want the 'I was wandering along the beach and found this' casual look then you may not want grommets.
