hey everybody, been lurking for a while and you guys are awesome---
so i need to dig for your opinions :P

luckily i'm in the houston area so i can set up an appointment to whiteflash
i'm going to propose in a few months and have been researching and all that for the past month. went to tiffany's and was very impressed, but i think i was looking at a set up light show cuz it was just that sparkly. went to jared and bailey banks and biddle, and sure it looked nice, but not so shiny. so i've decided to try to get a nicer ring and probably from whiteflash, as you guys rave about it. and i'm gonna try to get one nice based on its specs i guess

so here's what i want to put together

this in platinum

http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/3Stone/3-Stone-Trellis-Ring_1135.htm#

with

http://www.whiteflash.com/pear/Pear-cut-diamond-1036821.htm
or
http://www.whiteflash.com/pear/Pear-cut-diamond-1022550.htm

or

http://www.whiteflash.com/pear/Pear-cut-diamond-1000720.htm

the one that costs about 5700 has a one star rating. does that really mean much? i read that it was from a supplier who didn't give them enough info? is the # of stars worth $1500?

so which do you think i should get?
my budget was about 8k, but after taxes and stuff an extra few hundred isn't gonna put me in trouble.

thanks!

Wow, Chetmichaels, set up an appt! You are so lucky that you will be able to see what you like best in person! I bet they will help you come up with something beautiful! I love the trellis setting! Welcome to Pricescope

Hi chet,

First, the setting you have picked out is for round or square stones. It wouldn''t really work with a pear. And speaking of pears, and 3 stone rings, are you sure your girl likes either/both of those? I only ask because those are very specific looks, and most women either like them or they don''t. If you know she likes these, that''s fine. But if not, I would suggest trying to find out if she does, or to be safe, go with a round solitaire.

As for the one star rating, that means they don''t have the stone on site, it''s in a virtual inventory, and they will have to call it in, and run tests on it. If you do decide to go with a pear, I would make a specific thread in Rocky Talk, asking for help from "fancy" people.

well, i know she wants a pear, but i dont know if it should be a solitare or 3 stone...

how do you know if a setting will fit a pear?

thanks!

I would contact Whiteflash and they''ll be happy to show you some stones and settings. I got my pear from WF and I

it.

Call ahead or email with your budget, then they''ll have time to put together some options. They''re great to deal with.

How fun to go shopping at Whiteflash! I think pear diamonds are very pretty and I am sure they''ll be able to show you many settings that will look great with a pear diamond.

How lucky that WF is close to you. I love a pear, set with pear sides. It''s a classic setting. Good luck in your search!!!

I think one star means that they don''t have it in house and can''t really rate it. They would call it in and then access it.

Great! That''s half the battle.

Each setting has a short description, and in there, almost always it will tell what stones will fit, or say that it will accomodate any stone, if that''s the case.

To help give you an idea of what can be done with a Pear, here''s the Pear thread. If you find more than one you like, you could always do another thread asking for opinions.

Not to worry! WF have excellent return and upgrade policies, so even if you buy a stone and are not entirely happy, you can swap it. I would def set up an appointment (if you are lukcy, Brian will be there to show you his amazing collection of sparklies). Bring you GF along and let her see some of the truly stunning stones they have and let her show you a few options. Then you could always purchase one later so you keep the suprise factor going?

Good luck! I am so jealous that you are going to WF in person!!! I would give a kidney to spend a few hours locked away in that place!!!!
