What setting for larger stones?

I am waiting on the arrival of a 3.51 round stone. I’ve looked at a few sites and the plain solitaire settings I’m interested in tend to say they are only for up to 3 carats. Does anyone know what type of setting is needed to accommodate a 3.5 round? I’m looking for something like the attached photos (round, comfort fit ring in platinum with basket head and double claw prongs)…. And of course I’d love the setting not to cost more than the stone.

Stuller has lots of options if you don’t want to go the custom route. You can browse their site and fine a jeweler near you who can order it and set your diamond.

It is 9.7 mm

My stone is 9.5mm and I have pretty much this exact setting. I worked with David Klass to have it made and it definitely cost less than the stone

I can only second David Klass. My stone is 3.4 carat with 9.7 mm diameter. My ring size is 5.

I asked him for a Tiffany-like solitaire, and he sent me a CAD. You can also send him your inspiration picture, and he is going to make the CAD according to it.
