Per instance, is there a special place, time, situation, lighting etc that when you look at your diamond, you just go "wooooooooooow" or "goo goo ga ga"?
and all of a sudden you are just in love with it over again?

For me... it''s when I drive in the morning of back from work at night and i have my hand on the steering wheel and the sun catches my diamond in a such a way that the reflection of the sparkles are all over my car like a disco ball :) and sometimes, when I bend my finger so slightly that I can see the yumminess of the yellow... or sometimes, i put it in the ring dish and look at it by itself and I am like WOAH!!! My ring is sooooo pretty!!!!

I want to hear your stories.... :)

I just came back from taking my lunch outside in the park. I was sitting at a table under trees and noticed that in the light filtered by the trees' leaves all the facets of my cushion were clearly showing, some in yellow, some in green and some in blue from the specks of sky visible through the leaves. It looked absolutely lovely.

The lighting in my elevator at work makes my diamond sparkle like CRAZY. I always catch myself staring at it on my way up in the morning!

So nice to read your stories ladies... :)

Please keep them coming :)

In the dark of the movie theater. I love how the ring sparkle

I''ll never get tired of looking at my diamonds under trees - it makes me say "wow" every single time. I also love the lighting in Costco, Home Depot, etc

The lights and mirrors outside of the Macy''s dressing room always make me go WOAH.

Shop-n-Save. I don''t know what it is about their fluorescent lighting, but lordy! Wish I could insall it in my home.

on certain days when it''s not too sunny out and the lights are on inside the bus (NYC)...my ring is blinding...sparkles so much that I just want to stare at it (but would look like an idiot if I did

. I also love going into Starbucks...my ring is BLINGING all over the place there...and certain elevators. Oh I love when it''s sunny out and the ring catches the light...I get sparkles of light bouncing off the side of the car door, ect. My daughter LOVES when that happens.

When this happens I''m in love all over again

My ring has such amazing fire... I get lost staring at it AT LEAST once or twice a day!!

The drive home from work every day is definiitely on top of my list. Also, I was playing shuffleboard last weekend and it was getting dark and the lights came on and my ring sparkled like crazy! I loved that!

Mine too. And I thought I was the only one who thought that about elevators.

the ride home always give me a fun time (and possible driving distraction!) also sitting at home, reading a book and seeing the disco ball as well.

Haha my first response was going to be exactly what you said, Amethyste, before I even read yours! I LOVE it on sunny afternoons when I''m driving home, and it''s like my own personal disco ball on the roof in the car. Then when I stretch my fingers out and just admire the sparklies and fire shooting out of it.

Also on cloudy days outside - makes it look very white.

Direct lighting in shopping stores does it too - makes it throw off so many colors and sparkles. Makes me go

Driving in the sun.

My hand is on the steering wheel and I'll get a sudden surprise of intense scarlet or a blue-green.
Then I'll move my hand slightly to morph the scarlet towards violet and just hold it there.

Once I was in a 99 cent store and for some reason they had the most perfect bling light ever.
It was continuous rows of exposed fluorescent tubes that ran the full length of the building.
It was a very high ceiling and the rows of light were about 10 feet apart.
I have never ever seen more perfect bling light.

The reason I say it was the most perfect light is it was that perfect balance of seeing the pattern of the cut but almost every facet was a color of the rainbow.
Light can be on one end so diffuse that you see only the cut pattern but no color - or, say, direct sun where you see such intense flashes of color that it overpowers the recognizability of the cut pattern.
This light was the perfect blend of both.

This is exactly the effect Shop-n-Save''s lighting produces.

the way it sparkles

in almost any lighting. It''s hard not to notice

oh man. I love it in the sun, and I love it in Walmart or the grocery. DH and I do a big grocery run every 2 weeks, and I hate it (takes hours!) so the only way I can deal is by getting an ICEE when we get there and staring at my ring along the way

DH thinks I am crazy, as I am constantly grading lighting environments for what they do for my stone.

"Look, DH! This deli/store/cat house at the zoo has great lighting for my ring!"

This is my exact storie!Ive posted before about the time I almost got into a car wreak taking a left hand turn and in the middle of the turn seeing the refections on the roof above me.Came very close to running into waiting cars! The other time is while at a christmas tree charity sale, two ladies walked up to me a said that my ring sparkled more then the lights on the trees.I love walking in the mall because the lights are very kind to diamonds and give them extra spark! One time, while working at a mall jeweler, we got bord one summer day and I took off my favorite solitaire diamond ring(2.54 round brilliant) and put it in the front window. That diamond looked huge, whiter and briter in the window and the mall lighting made it look so good.I was so proud that it was mine.

One of the joys of having a well-cut diamond is how its personality will surprise you in new lighting conditions.

You'd think after a few years you would have seen all of its personalities.

But no, I still get wonderful surprises light shows.

When I''m in a Barnes and Nobles, the multi point lighting makes the diamond just explode

My gym! It must have the same lighting as jewelry stores. I actually used to not wear it there, but I forgot to take it off one time and saw how it sparkled and now I wear it and stare at it while I am bored on the treadmill!!!

My favorite sandwich shop has lighting that makes my diamond look amazing. I''ve long wondered if this place was my favorite because of the food, or the lights. Best of both worlds, I suppose.

So true!

Hotel elevators have the best lighting for my ring. My DH thinks I''m crazy when I squeal about how pretty my ring is while we are going up or down. I only do this if no one is riding with us. If there happen to be others, I just have a huge grin on my face.

I love to catch glimpses of my ring when I drive. The Monday morning after we first got engaged I was on my way to work and I wasn''t paying attention to how fast I was going because I was staring at my ring. I got pulled over for speeding. Luckily I didn''t get a ticket!

So when others are on the elevator standing there bored, do you reach over with your bling hand and press your floor again and again as if you are in a hurry but you really want to give the passengers a light show?

I'd NEVER do THAT!
