I love starting The Day each day - if I knew why, I'd tell.

... Louboutin's Shoes. ... or going barefoot

IHMO, it takes more chutzpah to go barefoot than Louboutin, in most circumstances !

Red soled shoes are not my thing; perfume is.

I love to wake up a bit early to do.... nothing
Read the news in bed, do a little yoga, a meditation exercise, or read 15 pages of my book. I tend to get to work quite early as well for the same reason - I like to have some time to myself before everyone is around to start asking me things

But I feel best
Aesthetically: My eyelash extensions. Vain, I know. I've been wearing them full time about a year and I love them. I feel pretty & put together with nothing but a good clean face and moisturizer
Emotionally: Great coffee I made at home. When I was in business school I opened a coffee shop, and made thousands of lattes with high end coffee beans and milk from cows living 10 miles away on a $30k espresso machine. I can't quite replicate that at home in my 600 sq ft apartment - but I do a damned good job

About me: 30something, no kids, crazy job, live in the midwest

I love a fantastic pair of jeans.

I don’t care who you are or how old you are, what your body type is, you can wear a crappy sweatshirt with messy hair and if you’re wearing a great pair of jeans, your ass will always look like candy.

LOL love these responses. A good night's sleep and a shower in the morning, with pretty underwear. A pair of nice fitting jeans. I wear sensible shoes 99% of the time but if I wear boots or heeled shoes I do feel sexier. I need to get a pair of boots, and was trying on a mess of them. Bla, bla, bla. But then tried on some Pikolinos, and was, ooh. So maybe those are my version of Louboutins (sp).

I pop my diamond studs in my ears and I'm Good To Go!

I rarely ever feel sexy. I don’t know what it would take to feel that way. Maybe I need to find that bra @StephanieLynn is wearing. Haha : ) I feel confident or ready to take on the day if I wake up a few minutes naturally before my alarm. Put on makeup and outfit that makes me feel put together. It sets my day off if I find a stain on something that I haven’t noticed before. Eventually figured out, for me, that it’s important to have clothes that fit properly as I used to buy things if it’s on sale but maybe just a size off. Ohhh I hate forgetting my packed lunch at home when I forget to bring it to the office. That sets my day off.

@missy – Good call on having a clear face. Ohhhh man seeing a blemish right on the nose is a hard one to deal with. We aren't teenagers anymore!

@stracci2000 – I haven’t been bold enough to wear a bright red matte lip yet! I do enjoy lipstick but I find that whatever I put on, half of it comes off after breakfast so I have a habit of not doing anything now. I think I’ll have to give it a go again!

@canuk-gal – Good for you girl! I’ve never tried colored mascara before. Way to be daring! Do you match the color to your outfit? Teach me how to be a rockstar!

@whitewave – Hmmm how about putting on your beautiful asscher in the morning after a good polish? I would be pumped to see that on my finger!

@kenny – Yes there are good days and bad days but I wasn’t necessarily inquiring about happiness. I may know there is a challenging day ahead of me but in the morning it is often the quiet before the storm. There hasn’t been enough issues yet to get me down. I never used to be a morning person but I’m appreciating it more and more now. By the end of the day, I’m usually worn down. Are you more of an evening person then?

@mrs-b – I appreciate your honesty. I can’t imagine living with auto immune disease and the difficulties it comes with it. Don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of days where I wake up on the wrong side of the bed so they say and no matter what I do it doesn’t change my attitude. It reminds me though of a lady who has a routine of putting on her best looking dress on the days that she feels down. I thought, how bizarre as usually when one does not feel well, you just want to wear pjs or workout gear. However, she said that people would notice her extra efforts and offer compliments and it would slowly change her day around. Thought it was interesting and it worked for her. Anyhow, keep on living the best that you can and I know many of us appreciate you spending part of your day posting on PS and sharing your guidance and bling!

@Calliecake – You know it’s funny that I actually feel more comfortable and are more drawn to people in their 50s+ than in my age range. I don’t pay attention to millennials trying to look sexy and cute, trying to get ready in the locker room at the gym. However, when I see an older lady who is taking care of her body and has a great outfit on, it really inspires me! I look to them and think, gosh, I hope I am that way in the future. I feel like women in their 50s have lived so much life they have much experience and wisdom to share. Oh so much more interesting that other ladies closer to my age range. You aren’t invisible to us, you are one of the NIRDI ladies! Sorry hope that wasn’t too cheesy. I mean it though.

@LLJsmom – Oohhh good one. I love a workout to start a day. Particularly running in the neighborhood when it is dark at the start of the run and finishing with a sunrise.

@jordyonbass – There is confidence in knowing the things you can change and the things you can’t. I’ve heard that if you get a big enough diamond to wear, you don’t focus on all those other things. Hehehe…

@HotPozzum – Yes, I put on makeup/outfits more for myself than for others. I am a fan of perfume but only have one scent. Enjoy putting it on as well!

@yssie – impressive! I like going to bed and waking up at the same time. If I can’t finish something by a certain time in the evening, I’m the opposite and leave it for tomorrow to try again.

@tuckie – I do notice ladies with eyelash extensions. It does have a beautiful look that mascara can’t emulate. I bet you look fantastic with it on!

@House Cat – haha I’ve never thought of my bum looking like candy. I bet the next time I’m wearing jeans I’ll wonder what type of candy.

I love to wake up a bit early to do.... nothing...

I need this habit ...

_

Then, great coffee is my thing too. I am in awe with your making a business out of it !

Hmm, I don’t think I ever feel sexy anymore, but I always wear make up, everyday, to varying degrees.

I feel good when my hairs done, I’m made up and wearing a well fitting dress and heels.

I don’t wear make up for anyone other than me, it makes me feel better and is just a matter of personal pride to try and look as good as I can.

Coffee :) it makes me "functional" for the day. I'm not really one to care about feeling "sexy". When I'm in an especially funky mood I usually wear more diamonds, looking at them throughout the day can help me feel better.

Thank you for summing up exactly how I feel @Austina!!!!!

@PierreBear Thank You for making my day!

Nobody's mentioned morning sex.

I'm astonished because urban thesaurus has a hundreds of terms for it. (some are NSFW)
... some funny ones, MorningOs, Breakfast of Champions, Banana Pancakes, Eye Opener, Mornication, Sausage Sunrise, Good Morgasm, Canadian Wrestling.

The "problem" with morning sex that is it makes me NOT want to get out of bed!

I feel especially glamorous when I get a blow out.
That doesnt happen often, and day to day I definitely don't feel very sexy! I'm pretty much a plain jane most days. I curled my hair and slapped on some makeup last week and everyone was asking if I was going to a Christmas party

A good hair day a plus, I love a good well put together outfit. I love the days when you wake up and just “feel skinny”, and the times I am look in the mirror and feel okay about what I see.

At 58, there are more days that I look in the mirror and don’t like what I see, but I think that is par for the course. I think that is more a mental thing than a reality thing, and I accept that. It is hard to get used to he inevitable changes of getting older when your mind still thinks you are 25. I am grateful for so much in my life that it overshadows the challenges for me. I am happy for an occasional day when the hair feels like it’s working and I am happy about how an outfit looks, and I feel skinny in it.

Booze...did anyone say booze? I’m so fabulous when I’m drunk...at least to me.

I have laughed so hard at the comments above.

A few years ago I got into the habit of working until 2 or 3 am every night. That quickly killed any feelings of confidence or sexiness for me. I feel sexy and confident when I go to bed by 11 pm and get a full 8hours of sleep, so that I can be my true self and not an exhausted, incoherent version.

I also feel my best when I work out consistently, thanks for the reminder, right now I'm only managing to work out two to three times a week and I need to make it five days and longer sessions. That boosts my confidence like nothing else.

Yup, ditto on the good hair day (for me that means freshly washed and air-dried), and one of my many all-in-black outfits ... always feel extra great, extra strong, and extra "me" in all black with shiny tousled hair to boot.

Hahahaha....

Um.... DH and I go out to breakfast twice a week. He always orders the short stack of banana pancakes. Now you've got me wondering what his co-workers think he has twice a week on his way to work.

Morning Glory!!! You have to yell it in a 'THIS IS SPARTA' voice first though

HI:

PB--I don't color (necessarily) coordinate my mascara to my clothing--but not a bad idea! LOL

https://www.yslbeauty.ca/en/waterpr...D_lkaAtEzEALw_wcB&start=6&cgid=makeup-mascara

I use this non waterproof version in the violet and blue. They are a staple for me and as good as a great pair of earrings IMHO. :lol-2: If I wear black mascara, I often use the violet on my bottom lashes as it is a softer color. Black on bottom lashes can be a bit dramatic for everyday.

Mascara removal is easy if you use the right product--and I like Vichy--since I wash my face anyway before bedtime, it is only another minute or so a non issue for me.

cheers--Sharon
