maybe one who doesn''t get your face during the entire ceremony! I am kind of upset about it. Things that seemed obvious (getting DH''s reaction when I was waling down the aisle, close-ups of our faces, hands when we put the rings on, even side profiles) weren''t done. We had two camera men so no moments would be missed, well, they all were. The sound is good at least. I guess it is more important since hopefully I will have beautiful photographs (if I ever get them!), but we spent a lot of money on them and I feel like they totally dropped the ball. The reception part is fine, just the ceremony. Arggg....I am just really disappointed.

Is there anyway that you can have them re-edit the film to include more faces, if there were 2 videographers maybe one got faces but they thought the other''s was better? I would be a bit dissapointed too, but at least the whole video isnt like that (at least the reception part is fine).

As far as the photographer goes, I understand that sometimes these things take a while, esp if there are alot of weddings, but then they should give you a more realistic timeline, rather than saying they''ll be done sooner than is really possible.

I''m sure it''ll be worth it in the end, hang in there!

I am sorry to hear that, Tacori...I dont have really any advice for you- I am clueless since I havent gone through this myself yet...but I hope everything works out, and that you find a solution to this disappointing problem...

Good luck!!!!!

Sweetpea, I don''t think they have any other footage (with our faces). I can clearly see which is which camera and they are both in such awful places. I think they should take money off since it is pretty bad. I guess I just wanted to vent.

Thanks Dani. I didn''t think I would be in this situation either.

I am not a micro-manager. I thought "hey could you make sure our faces are in the video) was pretty obvious. Guess not. It will be interesting to see what they have to say for themselves. I would be embarrassed if it was my work.

Oh my how awful! I would think getting your faces/reaction and hands etc whould be common sense as well. I would def complain and explain that this isn''t at all what you thought you were paying for!

Good luck...and I''m hoping your pics will be FAB and makeup for the bad videographer.

oh, tacori, i''m sorry to hear this. i would be so mad! it seems like you are having a run of bad luck. i hope it turns around with fabulous pictures! as for the videographer situation i would definitely call them and explain your frustrations. don''t be shy. you''re in the right. maybe they will some extra footage that they edited out. although it''s hard to imagine they''d edit out the most important parts. another thought... did any of your friends or family members take video? if they did maybe you can have it edited in to the "professional" one. sorry i don''t have anything better to add.

ugh that sucks!
I would totally ask for some kind of a discount.

I''ve heard that a lot of times if you mention how you were just dying to gush about their service and recommend them to all your online friends (if you hang out at the knot and mention that I heard it is a big push) but that you were very disappointed in the final product you might get either an offer to re-edit (you never know it might get better?) or a discount?

did you guys ever have a meeting or discussion about what they were going to capture? Did you get a chance to look at any of their other productions? If so - did they have all the moments you had hoped for? If so - I would mention that as well - let them know you booked with them based off the products they showed you and your final product did not live up to any of those expectations.

If you guys didn''t have any kind of discussion/meeting on expectations and you didn''t view any of their products you might be stuck (although I would assume that you booked them based on something right?)

just some thoughts - I''m still a LIW so I''m not even close to investigating this stuff -- but I have had to let vendors know what I thought of their work before!

I am hoping the pics will make up for it as well. Guess we will have to wait and see. I am waiting to hear back from the videographer to see how he reacts to my reaction.

The funny thing is the day of the wedding everything was PERFECT. I am only having bad luck with these two venders. No one else took any video

. I guess we all figured the videographer would come through, Ha! I can''t imagine the "pros" have any useful footage the edited out because we can clearly tell which was which camera. Oh well. I know in the long run this is not important but I am still alittle sad about it. Thanks for the advice!

I am totally going to ask for a discount. The product isn''t what my parents are paying for. To me it is only half done. I did not really tell him what I wanted but like Angel I thought that was common sense. I wasn''t looking for anything special. Just the standard reaction shots, hand shots, first kiss sho, that kind of thing. I DID see some of their sample videos and they were good (AND showed all the important parts like faces
2.gif
) Lesson learned I guess. Of course venders are going to show their best work. If he doesn''t offer a discount I will ask him if he is proud of this video and would he show potential clients. I think we all know what that answer would be. I work in a creative field to and could never get away with this kind of mistake.

I am so sorry about that. I didn''t have a pro, but my very sweet friend offered to tape it for us. She told me later that is was very important to her that she get DH''s reaction, so even though it''s a bit shaky, she zoomed in on his face and caught him saying "Wow" as I came down the aisle. I''d heard that he did that from friends at the reception, but it was awesome to see it on the DVD.

Now if an amateur focuses on that aspect, what the heck was wrong with these pros. I would def. ask for a discount.

He still hasn''t responded to my e-mail saying I expected a discount to reflect the mistakes.

I cannot believe he didn''t offer it himself. When this is all over I am going over to the knot to "review" them. Also still haven''t heard from my photographer. Its been 11 weeks. When can I offically be angry?

that SUCKS!! have you called them? or just emailed? i would be pissed.

EEP! That''s awful! Maybe they do have extra footage like someone else suggested... I sure hope so! You better get a discount also. Thanks goodness your reception turned out alright.

I guess they put some of the highlight footage during the ceremony now. Not sure how that will work. They def. don''t have any footage of my face during the ceremony. No way that is possible. It was funny b/c my #2 thing I wanted a video was our first dance (since we worked so hard) and that came out good. So I guess it is not all bad. And like I said before. At least we can HEAR the vows but still. He doesn''t seem eager to lose money on this deal but I just don''t care. I refuse to pay professional prices for an unprofessional project.

Tacori, that''s awful! I cetainly agree that you should not have to pay full price for shoddy work. Good luck getting it sorted out!
