Hi, I bought a ruby in Ebay 8 years ago and It is very magnivicent. I want to find another one, but haven't seen like this one. I got it only $35 in Ebay, for 4.6 carats. I lost the seller contact. Can any one suggest the producent for this cheap and beautiful stone? Many jewellers suggest it is not rubby, because it is glowing very strong under torch and sun and has a purple hue in outdoor daylight, but I believe it is ruby. And it has red fluorescent. I want to make another one for bracelet if I can find a cheep one more. Thank you in advance.

With another ruby :

It is most likely synthetic ruby. That’s the same chemical composition as natural ruby, except grown in a lab not mined from the ground.
Looks exactly the same, only certain tests will reveal the difference.
Natural ruby, not highly treated, is up to $3,000 a carat to buy.
Synthetic ruby, that looks the same, is just a few dollars a carat.
So if your original ruby is natural it was a huge bargain and you won’t be finding another similar for $35.

Thank you for the info. I am not bring it to lab because it might be not worth money. But I had bough some other ruby, synthetic, cheap burmese cabochon, cutted with glass filled, but it is not as beautiful as this one. But I believe there is one source in market for this kind of product.

What source in the market for the product? Go to gem shows in places like Hong Kong and Singapore and China there are literally many many display cases full of cheap either synthetic, or glass filled rubies on offer all of different qualities, the more you pay the better the stone.

Ok thanks for the info. Good idea for gem shows. I'll try to see if there is one in my country.
