What is it that you really want to do?

Mine is for DH and I to retire early and travel around the world. We'd love to go to Italy (i've been to some places in Italy but still yet to visit other places like Tuscany, Capri, Milan, Florence to name just a few; hubby hasn't been at all), France (which I have a soft spot for and the food is sooooo amazing!!
18.gif
), Spain, Portugal (neither one of us has been) and so many other countries in Europe. And also there's Australia. It's such a HUGE country (for God's sake, it's an entire continent by itself!!) and there are so many things to do and places to visit. And the US, even though hubby is American, we've yet to visit so many different states. I'd love to go to Boston to see the autumn leaves, to go to Maine to eat lobsters. Canada, to see the Niagara Falls. Last but not least, South America, so exotic!!

OMG, if we could go to all these places before I die, I'd be so happy!!

My dream is to find a man that loves me and that I love. Own a few properties in America and have this as our income source to fund our trip around the world. Luxury travel is incredibly amazing. I don't just want to travel, I want luxury travel.

Honestly, I have no idea (is that sad?) I never really seriously thought about it! DH and I have only been on one vacation together, but there are SO many places I want to travel with him, so I guess traveling to all those places would be included in that "lifelong dream" but I don''t have any specific places in mind because I never really thought about it too much

I want to live a long, happy, healthy life with him and retire and travel all over the world.

I did just see this though: a world cruise... 118 days... $78,595
"From San Diego (California) to Fort Lauderdale (Florida) aboard Seven Seas Voyager, featuring 49 ports of call in North America, islands of the South Pacific, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Bonaire, Philippines, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives, Seychelles, South Africa and the Caribbean."

To climb Mt. Everest. Even bigger, to climb the highest peak on each continent.

Successful small business owner.

I want to see the world. I've got 20 countries under my belt so far (maybe more if I forgot one or two), and am anxious to get traveling again. I want to live all over the world and work all over the world. That's the only dream of any real importance, and the most important goal I have right now.

ETA: Lilac, that's my plan for retirement! Spend a year (or 6 months or whatever) at sea going all around the world.

Mine is probably too big to post here. Overall though. I want to become a nutritionist who works in food sciences to help develop better foods and eating systems for people. I want SO and I to get married, have a family and be comfortable. I want us to get to have great adventures together doing all the things we would like to do. I want to breed beautiful arabian horses and watch their babies in my back yard when I''m too old to ride.

My lifelong dream is to open my Haven so I can spend the rest of my life making meaning for myself and others, living near the ones I love, and experiencing new things on a regular basis.

I''m actually implementing a plan to start it right now. If all goes according to plan, this time next summer I''ll be living my dream.

I wrote about this in my Who''s Who (I don''t even know if that''s still around . . . ) but the Haven is an experiential learning retreat. We will offer a variety of workshops and programs for individuals who seek more than your typical vacation. Field professionals will come and stay in-residence with participants and offer weekend or week-long programs in the arts, athletics, languages, etc.

Ten years ago my mother and I conceived of this idea after lamenting the fact that so many people (in the US) lack real hobbies and interests. We decided that enough is enough, people need the opportunity to experience new things with like-minded individuals. We also feel that "community" is a lost thing around here, too, and we''d like to work on that, as well.

Think of it as camp for adults. I can''t wait.

First, we need to find land. And investors.

YAY! Haven, I''m so glad to hear that plans are in motion for this.

Haven, I think that idea is great!

Our dream is to own a pied-a-terre in Paris. To that end, I''m learning French through Rosetta Stone right now (it''d be more fun to go to Haven''s "camp," though!). From there we can easily visit the rest of Europe.

And Phoenix, I definitely want to travel other places as well! Greenland (I am so fascinated by the disappearance of the Norse colonies there after 500 years), Buenos Aires . . .

But to be honest, I am a lucky girl. We are very comfortable and have more than we need. If I''m never able to get a second home in Paris or travel more than I already have, I can''t complain. It would certainly be icing on the cake, though!

To retire

To stop sweating the small stuff, suck up my pride, and appreciate each day.

Never gonna happen I''m afraid. Haha. At least I admit it.

My husband and I would love to own a house some day and start a family. We''re not a position to do either one at the moment, unfortuantely.

To stay out of the Doctor''s office for the rest of my life!

Maybe not, but you''re definitely in the right city for it!

I don''t have much of an idea, either. Mostly because at this point in my life, my focus is on raising my kids.

After the boys graduate and move out, I would love to be able to create an amazing garden and enjoy that for hours a day! I''d also love to spend a month in a cabin enjoying laying out on a tropical beach drinking pina coladas for breakfast. A long vacation like that, IMO, would be most enjoyed when the stress of watching over my kids is over. AFTER they''re out of the house! Plus it''s not best for them to see mommy with a delicious drink made with rum at 9 in the morning. It''s better to wait until at least 10 am.

If I had money money money, I would have a shelter for cats/dogs with tons of land, vets on staff, and find a way to take animals away from mills and bring them to the shelter. I''d also have a ginormous house and foster kids that have been abused/neglected and taken from their parents. I want them to know and experience the love they weren''t given. And find a way to prevent the abuse/neglect from happening in the first place. Iowa has a safe haven law for infants..I''m not sure what age it extends to. I''d like to have my own safe haven for them.

I want a family. It would be amazing for DH and I to be sitting on our porch in the future with family around us, perhaps even some grandkids.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I can''t tell you how many times in my life I''ve said that I''d bring home every animal that needed me if I could do all that.

I''ve never thought about it, but fostering kids would be an incredibly rewarding thing too, I think.

My only other real dream is just to have a family. I want a few kids that I can raise right and put out in this world to do some good. I already have an awesome family network surrounding me, and I am so incredibly thankful for that. I really can''t ask for anything else besides being able to pass that along myself.

I want 3 or 4 children. Didn''t mention that before (I guess I was thinking of a "lifelong dream" more of as something I want when I''m much older). But I would love to own a house with my husband big enough for a large family.

Gosh, SUCH a tough question!

I have dreams, but perhaps some are better described as "goals." Since I have trouble separating the two in my mind, I'll attempt to do that here:

GOALS:
- To nurture our kids into healthy, well-adjusted, happy, thoughtful, resourceful, responsible, caring, and sensible adults.
- To earn and save enough for the kids' college funds and our retirement

DREAMS:
- To live to a ripe old age with DH by my side, with lots of little grandchildren running around. I want us to be old and healthy as horses! We are both plagued by various maladies right now, so the concept of good health is front of mind.
- To be a successful small business owner. What business, you ask? No idea!
- "Pipe" dream: to develop the chops to become a really good, performance-quality jazz musician
- To someday travel to Europe, Africa, South America, and Australia. DH and I had our chance to do some traveling when we were younger and childless, but we screwed up big-time and never actually did it.

- To have a vacation home in either Napa Valley, or -- heck, why not, it's called a dream -- Lake Como, Italy!

My lifelong dream...the one I had since I was little? To have a family.

i want a bigger stud than yours on my ear.

To travel all over the world.

My career dream is to get a PsyD in Forensic Psych and to work for the FBI as a criminal profiler. Think Criminal Minds style.

YES. Lake Como is my new favorite place in the world.

Other than that, one of my biggest goals is to have a long, happy, successful marriage with my DH. I also hope to travel a bunch and to be able to provide for my wonderful parents as they get older.

To provide a wonderful life for our kids

I''d like my name to appear somewhere in the credits for a video game. Even if nobody reads those.

My other dream is to someday write/illustrate a children''s book, and get it published.

Pretty recent dream, but major: I want to adopt a child internationally. There''s something about the idea of adopting that calls to a very special part of my heart.

I try not to dream big, but I dream often. I want a small house on a nice private lot, time to read and peace and quiet all around. Sounds really simple, but to be honest, you really have to pay big to get that sort of thing here. I want to stay near to my daughters, and have city amenities fairly close by.

(I think I''d like Haven to expand into Canada perhaps, sounds like a great idea!)
