What is your interpretation of "PS Quality?"

I would ask them to clarify what they mean.

Yes I would do this. I would never think "PS Quality" means anything if not discussed with and in writing by said vendor.

@Queenie60 - I am so sad to hear this. I am also wondering how a diamond can 'fall out' of a bezel setting. Do you have a picture of the empty bezel? I know this is after the fact since both items have now been restored/fixed, but I would be curious. Was the girdles on the diamonds very thin and the bezel barely hanging on? I shouldn't go there and question all of this...

This is my definition: PS quality means to me that the cut of the diamond is high, the proportions of angles of the crown & pavillion, table and depth falls within the parameters of what has been mentioned on this sight over and over again or perhaps slightly outside, (@diamondseeker2006 definition!), minimum SI clarity, minimum I or higher color. The diamonds probably aren't certed. Overall the diamonds aren't necessarily H&A, but have a high degree of appearance. Basically, you gotta trust the vendor, but make sure you get pictures/video or go in person....

Personally I would consider less than 1/2 carat and that I knowingly want value. I would and have considered for jewelry like a pair of small earrings.

Ditto. Sorry to hear this happened to you. Very weird to hear of a diamond just falling out of a full bezel setting without any sort of contact. This most definitely sounds like a manufacturing defect, like the bezel edges were not laid over the girdle of the diamond sufficiently.

Regarding PriceScope quality, I've always thought it meant something similar to what @Crazie4Cuts outlined: A well-cut stone with an HCA below 2, with measurements that fall within those commonly recommended on this site, and a decent arrow pattern as viewed though an IdealScope. Basically, an H&A or near H&A stone that performs well. I would also define PriceScope quality as an eye-clean diamond without any inclusions that impact light performance (which in most cases, would mean SI1 and above clarity).

I've never really associated "PriceScope Quality" with the color though. Color preferences are all over the map on this site, so there can be "PriceScope Quality" J/K stones or "PriceScope Quality" D/E stones. Therefore, I would definitely define what color I wanted when asking for PriceScope quality stones. For example, if I wanted to order a diamond wedding band, I would ask for "PriceScope Quality" E/F or F/G color stones. But I'm picky about color. ;-)
