Rhubarb bitters? I’m intrigued - off to look for some

My fave -but infrequent - is whatever bourbon/whisky is handy, and Vernors or ginger beer with a maraska cocktail cherry or just the syrup.
Maraschino are a no go.
Otherwise it’s a dirty martini or a coors.

Haha I have to share. My friend sent this to me.

They are delicious - I experiment with a lot of different bitters. Angostura is classic, but Rhubarb bitters are slightly tart - they also go fabulously with gin, anything citrus and lots of holiday spiced drinks!

Count me in for a glass of Moscato or Prosecco!

My favourite drink is Martini Rosso, lots of ice with Sprite.

Definitely wine! Hands down favorite is red wines like pinot noir, red zinfandel, and blends. And white wine in the summer or warmer months (pinot grigio also chardonnay and other types).
I do like beer with certain things like buffalo wings. Same thing with sake and sushi.
Though I rarely drink alcohol my favorite alcohol is tequila (many fond memories of having a margarita with mexican food).
I had been seeing someone who doesn't drink, and the combination with covid and lack of social activities means I haven't drunk as much as I typically do. There were 1 or 2 months during this time that went by without me buying alcohol. I'll probably never be a teetoler but I didn't miss it as much as I thought I would (maybe I'm just getting old!)

Stouts, red wine, and rum. But honestly, I'll drink anything except weak beer.

A good chewy stout that could qualify as dessert. Something that is treacle thick and half a pint is more than enough. Lervig's 3 bean stout is like a chocolate bar in beer form.

RUM, a good molasses rum, as the agricole rhums are a bit too flat for me. ( yeah yeah yeah, I know I will get backlash from that statement). Malecon reserva imperial 21 or 25 from Panama, Flor de Cana 18 from Nicaragua, Zacapa xo from Guatemala are some of my favorites. (Shame I don't like Centenario from Costa Rica, as that would have covered the bottom half of central america!)

New world, Spanish, Portuguese, and north african wines. I like a red that is full on in your face, nothing subtle about it, and a good deal. Cahors wines from France are stilll affordable so that's a regular too.

And in the summertime, prosecco with a TON of fresh limes, and a dash of seltzer water. It's a morning to midnight kind of drink.

Edit: i forgot spritz! Aperol spritz. A piscine of it. From April to September.

Oh extra edit! And a suuper dirty Martini. With so many olives that they fall on your face when you take a sip. Now that's a classy look.

Girl, this read like copy. Now I'm thirsty :)

I love limoncello. Is that anything like a lemon drop martini? OMG We had limoncello every night for three weeks when we were in Italy. So good. I am with you on the presentation as well. Nothing beats having it in a worthy glass. A good looking drink is key. Good tasting is a necessity but to make it a worthy drink overall it must be in a handsome looking glass.

Lemon drops can be made with limoncello. I think finding a great limoncello is difficult, so I make mine with citron vodka, Cointreau, lemon juice and sugar water. So good!

Yumm. The limoncello we had in Italy was incredible. It was locally made.

Ooh that is great...please let us know what you end up getting with your liquor savings. It is amazing how much one can save not having liquor at one's meal out...in calories and in money.
I think I’m going to get filler in my jaw & chin where my middle age face is slipping....

More research to be done first

I’m a lightweight. I rarely drink at home and if I do it has to be sweet and/ or fruity. I like Moscato, pina coladas, Bahama Breezes- I told you I was a lightweight.
When I go out I will have a drink or two but it will last me the entire time. My friends will be on their third or fourth drink and I’ll be sipping my drink with the little stirrer and then drinking the melting ice cubes! Lol!
And when the waiter comes to take my drink away I will politely tell them I’m not done.
My husband has a drink or two every night.

ETA: one reason I don’t drink too much is bc I have reflux and heartburn and it is so much worse when I drink.

I probably have a few drinks a week, maybe a glass of wine with dinner or a beer with colleagues on Friday arvo. Favourite drink is a crisp Gin & Tonic with loads of lime.

Can’t beat a cold margarita! I’m a social drinker though so I enjoy trying new things friends recommend (loving this thread!). And I love champagne or hot cider during the holidays.

My favorite alcoholic drink is Caribou Lou cocktail. It's name might remind you caribou lou song.
I drink this drink first time in my friend's birthday party and from that moment till now its my first choice.
With this cocktail having a tropical flavor, it is only fitting that it is paired with bites popular in the tropics.

In my opinion all the cocktails have pineapple juice. I love it but I’m allergic....

Or some form of citrus... lemon, lime, orange -- it all makes my lips and tongue itchy. Give me enough and I scratch like a monkey! And the head to toe hives popping up are always a nice party trick.

I'll have a prosecco please!

I rarely drink. I have so little tolerance. My kids find this hilarious. They all love beer, i.e. liquid bread.

I do love a good margarita. I will have one when we are out once in a great while. I bought a bottle of the Costco stuff that is made with gold tequila (so good), and we made margaritas at home and the next day at 10 am I thought "oh, I would love another of those". I literally got the bottle and poured it down the sink and haven't bought it since. When it sounds good at 10 am that is a warning sign to me.

When we were in Hawaii last we had several Lava Flows. Desert in a cup and delicious. I would have that again when we go back.

On rare occasions I have had a glass of super cheap wine. It is the only kind I like. Strawberry wine kind of stuff.

I maybe have something to drink once or twice a year.

I get hives as well! Horrible & as much as I love it it is not worth it!

I used to really like sweet drinks like strawberry margaritas or Harvey wallbangers but don’t anymore. i like margaritas but only cheap tequila agrees with me anymore. I occasionally have wine when we go out to dinner. I like Chardonnay and Malbec probably the best.

@missy when you say your favourite drink is a Dark and Stormy - it's one of mine as well but I'm not sure we're talking about the same drink lol. Here in Australia a Dark and Stormy is Bundaberg Rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer, I used to have one after every big day out fishing as my way to cap off the day. It even has a little pirate ship on the bottle and says 'All Hands on Deck'!

I don't actually drink that much despite the fact I'm an Aussie, typically I will have a beer or two during or after fishing or when I'm on an overnight trip for my Surveying job and just punched in 12-13 hours working in the sun. I'm currently enjoying my Pacific Ales at the moment like Wild Yak from the Matilda Bay Brewing company.

I don't mind a good bourbon either but I find that I don't really drink it much anymore. Maybe two or three times per year I will have a bourbon.

Dark and Stormy here is also a combo of ginger beer and dark rum. The only difference being the specific ginger beer and rum I guess. And that varies. :)

I guess liquor is the universal language.

Oh wow that's really cool! I thought it would probably be rum but mixed with something else.

Our Bundaberg Rum has a bit of a polarising reputation here in Australia, but everyone seems to quite like it when it's a Dark and Stormy. The Bundaberg distillery makes both the Rum and the Ginger Beer which both sell quite well on their own, the Ginger beer is actually quite nice on it's own as a non alcoholic drink. But mix them together and you've got the nectar of the Gods' :cool2:

I love ginger beer (despite the no alcohol in it) and I adore rum so Dark and Stormies (haha is that the correct way to pluralize it I don't think so lol) are the bomb.

I was meant to be an Australian @jordyonbass :sun:

I really like piña coladas.....but I prefer them with no alcohol lol.

I’m a lightweight for drinks - usually only the one if we’re at home or two, occasionally three when out at a friend’s place for an evening or out to dinner. Current preference is sour beers, gin and tonic (I love citrusy tonics) and the occasional amaretto sour.
I like red wine and some whites but just haven’t been in the mood for wine for about the last 18 months for some reason.
I’ll just as happily drink sparkling water as any alcoholic drink tho.

Ha, looks like I'm the only one who loathe the taste of alcohol :roll:.
In my college years I've tried almost every hard liquor, mixed drinks, some beer, cheap wine, really expensive wine, cooking wine (was 18 and thought it was drinking alcohol ), etc. I hate the taste of liquor and also do not like fruit juices or sweet drink. I also don't like coffee. A glass or two of liquor makes me feel like I have bad motion sickness. My last year in college I drank half a bottle of tequila thinking if I drank more I would get used to the taste. Nope, I was sick for a week, thought I was going to die. So now I don't drink at all. My husband will occasionally ask me to take sips of his and it's still disgusting. Hehehe he drinks cider (Woodpecker ot Stella Artois). My ex-coworker once called me a cheap date:???:.
