Rum
Bailey's

I almost never drink, though.

Manhattan with either rye or bourbon, bourbon soaked cherries and a splash of the juice, black walnut bitters;
Filthy martini with a lot of olives;
Old Fashioned with caramelized orange.

This is an AWESOME thread! Particularly love the recipes and photos!

I’m such a cheap date. I really don’t like to drink, not having a taste for any alcohol. But once every few months or so, if I want to get a little buzz on, I will have ‘One’ Vodka with grapefruit and a splash of cranberry.
My kids love #drunkslick because it is so rare.

I like most liquor.... white wine, rum & vodka would be my preference.

But I’ve recently given up drinking as it was too easy to drink more than I should.

I would of had 3-4 glasses an evening & the Christmas/New Years holidays are always too much too often!

I’m now just on sofa water, mint & fresh lime.

I admit I don’t feel any different nor have I lost any weight but I also haven’t missed it (which I thought I would of).

I’ve now started a bank account & if I go for a meal out I save the money I would of bought drinks with & I am also putting away money each week so I can buy something nice for myself.

I only drink on the weekends, I like Chardonnay and I am quite partial to bourbon, I tend to drink Crown Royal over ice most of the time but my son has a expanding collection of rarer bourbons so I sometimes will try some of those, I have found I do like a good old fashion as well.

HI:

@missy I'm with Greg on Blanton. mmmmm

I love Martini's and Manhattan's and, well, most cocktails. LOL Cannot drink liqueurs.

I love Nikka Whisky. Crown Royal Whisky (10 year). El Dorado 12 year old rum.

Champagne, of course. @Alex T I've got your back!

I could drink California dry. Love SO many red wines from that State. Not a big white wine or Rose drinker, either--really depends on what's available.

Drink little to no beer. Except for sours--but those are limited.

cheers--Sharon

mostly red wine, but a bourbon once in a while but I do mix it with ginger beer (non-alcoholic kind). Once in a while white wine depending on what I'm having as a meal.

I drink half a bottle of red wine every evening to unwind from the stresses of the busy working day:D

Dry reds are my favorite. I have a glass every evening.
Also, enjoy Prosecco on a hot summer day.

I really enjoy Prosecco too on a hot day though Moscato is my first choice. But oh they are both so good.

Red wine is good for that. Very civilized and soothes the soul.

I love ginger beer...that is what is in a Dark and Stormy. Have you ever tried a Dark and Stormy? It is so good on a wet cold day.

OMG Greg just loves a good dry Manhattan with Makers Mark bourbon. You and he have a similar liquor palate.

Ooh that is great...please let us know what you end up getting with your liquor savings. It is amazing how much one can save not having liquor at one's meal out...in calories and in money.

Haha that is me too. A cheap date as I never drink much if anything. When I was young I was the same. My genetic makeup doesn't do alcohol lol. But occasionally I partake and enjoy.

All-time favorite - Manhattans with Japanese whiskey instead of typical rye.

My favorite recipe is with Suntory Hibiki, Cocchi vermouth, rhubarb bitters & a Griottines cherry with a few drops of cherry juice served chilled

Sounds like an awesome drink @Cerulean. Yummm.

I love wine, especially if I am cooking dinner or out at a restaurant. I also love a lemon drop martini. I have 3 small lemon trees and they have the best lemons. Whatever drink I’m having, I use a fancy glass because I love a good looking drink.

I love limoncello. Is that anything like a lemon drop martini? OMG We had limoncello every night for three weeks when we were in Italy. So good. I am with you on the presentation as well. Nothing beats having it in a worthy glass. A good looking drink is key. Good tasting is a necessity but to make it a worthy drink overall it must be in a handsome looking glass.

My go to is either a very cold Prosecco, or a pink gin with slimline tonic, ice & a big hunk of fresh lime squeezed into it.

Special occasion is a nice champagne, such a Tattinger or Bollinger. Super special occasion would be Dom P.

Mr T & I only have a drink on a Saturday evening though, as a bit of weekend treat. Occasionalky I might have a sneaky gin on a Friday night if I'm sat watching TV alone, as often Mr T & the girls will play video games together that night.

Sounds delicious. All of it.

Stouts, red wine, and rum. But honestly, I'll drink anything except weak beer.

A good chewy stout that could qualify as dessert. Something that is treacle thick and half a pint is more than enough. Lervig's 3 bean stout is like a chocolate bar in beer form.

RUM, a good molasses rum, as the agricole rhums are a bit too flat for me. ( yeah yeah yeah, I know I will get backlash from that statement). Malecon reserva imperial 21 or 25 from Panama, Flor de Cana 18 from Nicaragua, Zacapa xo from Guatemala are some of my favorites. (Shame I don't like Centenario from Costa Rica, as that would have covered the bottom half of central america!)

New world, Spanish, Portuguese, and north african wines. I like a red that is full on in your face, nothing subtle about it, and a good deal. Cahors wines from France are stilll affordable so that's a regular too.

And in the summertime, prosecco with a TON of fresh limes, and a dash of seltzer water. It's a morning to midnight kind of drink.

Edit: i forgot spritz! Aperol spritz. A piscine of it. From April to September.

Oh extra edit! And a suuper dirty Martini. With so many olives that they fall on your face when you take a sip. Now that's a classy look.

Or a hot sweltering day. Or any day, really!

No, I've never tried one. That's with dark rum, right? I'll have to get a "nip" of dark rum and try to make one. I have plenty of wet cold days here in New England!

Haha I hear you. The first time I had a Dark and Stormy was in New England on a cold stormy autumn day...my DH and I were waiting for the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and it was so cozy and romantic. I have very fond memories of that Dark and Stormy first experience. :)
