I am on BP meds- would love to get off of them though. When it was first diagnosed I had a BP cuff that I'd keep at work so I could monitor it during the day and work on getting it down.. But that has dwindled.. And I've stopped tracking it, but I NEED to get back to it. I need to either find my BP cuff or buy a new one. It's on my to-do list!

I got a digital one for hubby from Amazon. For under $30. With two person memory.

Mine - without meds - is usually 112/68ish. Resting heartbeat, however, is usually 80.

My lower number was very high. Lexapro seemed to lower it a little. When I added Cholesterol medicine it lowered me to 110/70. Go figure.

Mine was low all my life till one day I developed a crisis. ACE inhibitor had unusually bad side effects, so I just decided to fall in my dad's footsteps. He has been on beta-blockers for years. He also took baby aspirin for years. He has taken after his mother; she died at 82, he is 88 and alive. I honestly believe that these two things have helped, and significantly. Unfortunately, baby aspirin causes horrible heartburn, maybe there is a form that does not do it? I have not found any yet.

What a strange coincidence- a nurse just called me asking that I come in to have it checked. I'm going to order another cuff now so I can monitor it at home.

Mine is very low. To the point of getting a "head rush" if I get up too quickly. It's all good, my doctor is very aware however, as I age is isn't quite as low as when I was younger.

Mine is so low that healthcare people take it twice and then eye me suspiciously, as if I am somehow cheating on the test. And nope, I am not on any meds whatsoever. lol

Mines usually about 117/67 but my pulse rate is usually high. I don't take any medication whatsoever.

Mine was creeping up. I started taking Ubiquinol (Jarrow formula, 100 mg - 300 mg day) and it dropped it like a rock. The DH then started taking it and his dropped similarly. Didn't change my salt intake or anything else. Top quality Ubiquinol is very expensive but I got results so I happily pay the money for it.

CoQ10 won't do it, it has to be Ubiquinol.

I have a cuff, bought it at Costco, and I check 3 times daily for 10 days then average my BP for morning, noon and evening. You see your trends.

If you buy a cuff, pay attention to your heart rate, which if you develop atrial fibrillation or flutter, you will be able to see it yourself on the heart rate indicator.

ETA: I take ubiquinol not for hypertension but because I take 10 mg atorvastatin daily, which saps ubiquinol from your cardiovascular system. The hypertension bennie was a surprise to me.

I love jarrow products

I love jarrow products

Me too. I have a Consumer Labs membership (which I recommend to everybody) and Jarrow is consistently top rated with CL. The other brand I love is Doctor's Best, which makes the top magnesium supplement, and also the ONLY vitamin C not grown/processed in China or India (Doctor's Best vitamin C is grown in Scotland).

While talking to the nurse today she told me what mine was in April & May... 142/98 and 134/88 respectively. She said that "normal" is 120/80.
I'm now on 2 medications so we'll see what the trend is when I get the cuff and when I go back to the dr. next week!

DF- should I check before or after looking at Pricescope?:twirl:

Micardis HTZ

Wait- I just learned that in addition to looking best, 60/60 can also lower blood pressure!!!!

115/80 average, on meds for it.
Was 165/100 before meds.

Diagnosed with hypertension in my late 30's. It seems to be familial. I've been on meds since then and normally I'm around 125/80 with meds. I've had to have adjustments over the years and added a new med last week after 155/80 readings for a little while. My daughter has low blood pressure.

90/58. If I get pain meds I pass out because they lower my pressure.

Low. I do not want to know the numbers anymore.

Had some odd medical prescriptions for this, e.g. 'go get yourself a donut'. Insulting. Dead on !

Checked 2 weeks ago, 107/65

Doctor was surprised that I wasn't unconscious

I run about 112/70

110/60 or 100/60, no meds.

On: lisinopril - 1.0 mgs
usual B/P 130/72

Been on BP meds since 2007... at that time I had a week of 167/90.. went on .50 mgs of lisinopril and it dropped like a stone to like 112/68 as the years have gone by it started creeping back up and I had 3 different readings on my physicians office in early 2007 and she upped the lisinopril and it came down but only to the 130-135 range which she said was okay for my age.

At my age my mother went into the hospital with 220/110 and they finally got it down with a beta blocker and a diuretic for the rest of her life (12 Years).. she died of cancer.. her mom died of a stroke, so to some extent I can say high B/P is familial in my family, but I should lose weight. usually walk over a mile a day to 2 miles (depends on weather)... My sister died of heart failure last year and my brother died of lung cancer (like my mom) 2 years ago.

Depends on who's taking it, lol. This week at the endo it was 110/80. It's lower when I take it myself at home. It gets taken every 15 minutes when I do a remicade infusion, and that is stressful, so it's always about 120/85 minimum for that, or higher because I hate IV's and get freaked out every single time. Not on meds for it.

It depends on the situation. If I am stressed it goes high. For example I get "white coat" hypertension and it can be 130/90 at the doctor's office but at home it is generally 110/70 so I am not on any meds. My problem is I get stressed a lot so not sure how often my blood pressure is too high. But I am on a low salt diet and I get a lot of cardiovascular activity. All good for me and my (too) active mind. Exercise soothes my stress. I think it is the first prescription anyone should try before resorting to meds if one's bp is borderline. That and diet control as well as in low sodium because you could be (I am) a sodium responder. Anyway exercise cannot hurt (generally) if one starts slow and easy and is under a doctor's supervision if necessary.

My resting heartbeat is generally about 58 but again at the doctor's office it is significantly higher.

Usually about 110/60. No meds.
