If you want “absolute” certainty you may want to send it to a lab. Given the size, and your lack of knowledge about it’s nature, chances a very high that it is synthetic. If not, good for you :)

Internal scratches of fibers can be seen everywhere under the surface of the stone, the inside intersects at about 60/120 degrees, the inside of such feather-like small cracks can also be seen at 60x magnification.
It was taken out of a more than 100-year-old gold ring.
But my personal opinion is that ruby of such purity, I have not seen anywhere I am too suspicious in the field to see its naturalness.

It weighs around 5 carats which I consider to be quite large and too clean. Under eye-clear 10x magnification, only these fibers can hardly be detected on the entire surface of the stone.
