What is the one piece you'd never sell?

A lot of us have a bit of a revolving door when it comes to our jewelry. But most of us have at least one piece we would NEVER sell. Obviously, for me, it's Beloved. But assuming we all get a pass on our wedding sets, I was wondering what the pieces are that I would NEVER sell - and three pieces leap to mind.

Firstly....Joy. Hand-made charm by charm, this was the most out of proportion, cost-wise, of any project I've ever done. DKJ gave me a great price on these in the end out of sheer pity, I think, and I absolutely adore it. Most of them were re-done at least once - and many twice - she ended up being the most glorious bracelet I've ever seen. For a color junkie like me, this bracelet is pure crack!

Enamel bracelet.jpg

After Joy, I'd have to say 2 necklaces; my memorial necklace to my dog, and my Southern Cross locket. Photos posted in the next post.

So - what's the one piece you'd never give up? And if you *would* sell your wedding set, or parts thereof, mention that, too! And remember - this thread is useless without pictures!

Firstly - my Southern Cross locket - 18kt, .8ctw of white, clean, well cut diamonds, and one of the heaviest pieces I own:

And lastly, my memorial pendant for my dog. Definitely THE heaviest piece I own by a long shot and made up of most of my favorite gold pieces at the time and set with 2 tiny diamonds and one tiny ruby. The heart is 1.25 x 1.25", and the chain is from my best friend and is an antique muff chain, which we split in two and which is incredibly sentimental to us both. I don't know how much this piece weighs, but it has to be substantially heavier than 60gms:

Aside from my e-ring and actual family heirlooms, I’d probably say Lilliana. Just because she is such an original stunner and I love that I got to help create her.

My engagement ring, because of the sentimental value and because I've still never found another sapphire I like as much as this one.

Aside from my engagement ring, I want to say my paraiba ring, because I adore it. HOWEVER - if I was actually in a position where I had to sell my jewelry, it might be one of the first to go because it's the most valuable piece I own by far.

Ok - just a reminder that wedding sets are a given. So - looking for pieces *apart* from e-rings and wedding rings!

Altho...any thread that enoucrages the ladies of PriceScope to post photos of their wedding sets can't be a bad thing, now can it?

Anyway - I'm assuming everyone wants to keep their e-rings and wedding sets. So pieces APART from those pls!

I would never part with “Bee”..your namesake..I could stare into her for hours. She’s not the most costly..or anywhere near it..but I just never tire of her. Her facets are unbelievable in person. It looks like crushed ice in photos but they are chunky facets that are just amazing. She’s an H SI2…and completely eye clean because of those facets..I recently reset her in 18k yellow gold. Now she is white white white.. I will never reset her…or sell her..

My 5 stone Wolf CBI 18k ring.

1. It was a gift to myself for becoming nationally certified and recognized in my field in 2021, becoming the highest level of achievement one can get, and I did it in a statistically short amount of time. I did it while supporting my husband going to graduate school, and in the middle of the pandemic.

2. It was the last piece that Wink ever made under Wolf CBI. <3

Never ever, EVER will this piece be sold or given away.

I edited this post because I had three pieces listed and well, I TRY to follow directions  Apparently my brain just thought it said three not one!

This Traub Orange Blossom ring. Love at first sight, before I even knew it was Traub, so that was just icing on the cake. I could never replace it for what I paid either.

Definitely, for me, I would never part with “Liz” who is named after Elizabeth Taylor.
She is my 4.30 carat Emerald Cut Colombian GIA certified no treatment Emerald ballerina ring.
Yes…I always say I plan on resetting her in the future but every time I wear her I feel so glamorous that perhaps she simply stays as she is!!! 4F535189-79C4-4E33-8CFE-C78FF6941215.jpeg

I can’t possibly answer with only one piece

To be honest I’m at a point where I really have no less-wanted jewellery left! I’ve sold tons over the past few years, and now - aside from the very few pieces that I’ve got listed - stray inklings of rehoming anything more are swiftly scoffed off ::)

Excluding works in progress - I think this is my #irreplaceables list ❤️

B&W opals from Black Opal Direct and M’s Opal World, mounts by CvB:

Slightly off topic, but it goes without saying that my wedding set will stay put forever...to me, both rings are perfect. I love the weight of my wedding band, and years on, my e-ring gives me butterflies every time I put it on.

Back to the topic, I would never sell my 40th birthday sapphire and diamond cluster from DH. It's not in the same league as all of the stones are lab grown, but I longed for a piece of this design and size for the longest time, and never thought I'd own one, lab or otherwise. It was also a dream come true for me to own a custom DK piece. Plus, I just simply adore it, and I get so much joy from wearing it.

ok guess I didn't 451726 read the whole thread before I posted my wedding band..oops ok I do have another one, this was a necklace that was made for me for my 30th birthday by my mother in law (hubby's step mom) she was very ill with cancer when she had this made for me in 1990, she passed in 1991, it a very sentimental piece for me that I will never part with. its not a good picture of it, but the center piece is moves in circles, it has some sort of ball bearing in it to make it move independent from the larger circle and the diamond is a very small not nicely cut diamond but she had it taken from a piece of jewelry that she owned and never wore.

My pearl necklace whose story I have told previously. But for those who haven’t heard it.
My now husband and I travelled extensively in the year 2000 and whilst in Tahiti we brought a pearl. I had no idea about jewellery or pearls at the time but I loved this pearl. We called him the ‘ball bearing’ because he is steely grey.

After our return in 2001, my boyfriend sketched out some necklace ideas but we didn’t have the budget to set it.

Some years later I came home from work to a beautiful jewellery box sitting on the table. Inside was this necklace designed and commissioned by my now husband by a bench on Bond Street who makes jewellery for a number of high end jewellery houses.

It has so much sentimental value.

I have learned in my many years on this earth to never say never.
So while I might think I would never sell something (let's use my Cartier black opal as an example) I cannot say with 100% certainty. Because I could be wrong.

There are many things I thought I would not do. Yet went on to do them many years later.
So that is why, for the purposes of this thread, my answer is there is no one piece I can say I would never sell with 100% certainty.

We cannot know the future.
We can only guess at it and hope for the best.
That is one thing I can say with certainty.
That the future is always uncertain.
Because it hasn't happened yet.

This is the one ring I *think* I would never sell.
