What is the one piece you consider yourself lucky to own even now?

I have two. First is my vintage opal octopus. I can't tell you how much I love this guy and I am so happy I was able to snag him. My jeweler says he is irreplaceable. My second is my Art deco emerald and diamond bracelet. I've wanted one like this for years and I finally have it!

This is the first time I’m seeing the back of the octopus - he is an absolute marvel, wow. Detail and refinement everywhere! There is a good octopus novel that made me cry- “Remarkably Bright Creatures”.

I know, right? I think I love the back almost as much as the front. I'll have to check out that book.

Those are lovely and classic. The contrast of the ruby and the surrounding diamonds really sets off that unique red color.

Is it the price of natural rubies that's gone insane or precious metals in general? It seems like the cost of sterling silver has soared. I bought some James Avery charms this month and their prices are noticeably more than they used to be.

From my experience, both the price of gold and unheated rubies.
