What is the bane of your existence?

My bane. My joy.
My progeny.
Ask me once each day and you'll get a different answer.

Haha yes I get it. I don't have kids but I do get it. And ask me at different times each day and you will probably get a different answer from me too lol.

Hahaha.

I know you are going to dismiss what I say but I am going to say it anyway. Kate, you are beautiful inside and out. I hear you on wanting to be comfortable and healthy and yes of course. But from my point of view you are perfect and I mean that. (((HUGS))).

I am not fond of household chores either. Do you have a dishwasher? It makes cleaning up so much easier IMO.

I do! But I still hate doing the washing up! If only my mother used something else as penalty!

Food shopping. I hate to cook so...

I have lots ha ha.
1. People who don’t pick up their dogs “business”. It is truly disgusting to step in and then have to clean your shoes. Yuck.
2. People who don’t neuter their Tom cats and also let them roam the neighbourhood peeing their stinky wee everywhere. Fortunately with two Salukis (lightening fast hunters) it would be a foolish Tom (or Thomasina) that visited our yard.
3. People who can’t park their cars within “the lines” in the parking lot. Who likes coming back to their car and finding they have all of 3 inches to try and squeeze through to get into their car!

Same! On all 3.

I like food shopping. When we’re not in a pandemic that is. ::) But cooking? I’m with you sister. Thank goodness for our DHs:)

Im bad with the dishes and we have a dish washer
I just hate loading it

Also putting away the clean washing
im good at washing it and hanging it out to dry and getting it in..... but folding it and getting every last piece away........

My job, my three immediate family members, my hoarder neighbor, and my ex. So that's quite a lot really, LOLOLOLOL!

So many things, I don't know where to start. Mostly it's this house. It's okay that it's small, but the layout is terrible. Lack of storage! Laundry room in the basement is becoming a major pain for me. I need someone to take it down and up 2 flights of stairs. The flooring issue we need to resolve. The tiles, the backsplash. Ugh! So many things need attending to or replacing and updating. I have zero taste when it comes to decorating, so all of this is frustrating.

For me! there's only ONE Missy you Missy, that made me cry, seriously, weight has been my bane all my life.. Missy, you are what everyone needs on a grey sky day, on a dark and rainy night and a massive snowy day.. you made me feel so lucky to know you.. THANK YOU my friend.. luckyluckylucky me.. xoxoxoxoxo you are a gift to all of us. especially me. girl I love you.

Hahaha.

Currently it's our school district, they are holding a board of ed meeting to possibly open school a full five days with everyone attending like pre-pandemic. No idea if they will keep distance learning, like teachers will want to teach full classes AND online at the same time.

Yada may be homeschooling, please pass the wine!

I find if you press it really snugly around your nose and place your glasses firmly over it that helps.
Believe me, I feel you on this one. But the above techniques do help somewhat. Hope it helps you.

Thank you @missy - I’m certain that would help if I wasn’t pregnant and living in south Florida! But like it or not they are a part of life for the foreseeable, so for now I just have to laugh at myself!

When the dang internet (wifi) gets sketchy. Since I'm teaching on ZOOM now it's really troubling. And it's not just me, it's ALL of the participants. It's so terribly frustrating.

Fatigue. The real deal. Not just being tired. I am talking about feeling like it’s a major effort to walk up stairs or even lift my arms. It seems to be mostly behind me now (thankfully) but every so often it comes back for a bit. I fear getting Covid-19 and potentially have fatigue take a few more years out of my life.

Oh hold on, I got one.

People that do not return the shopping cart, you know the ones that leave it right in front of their car or in the next to them. There is even a theory for this that says if you don't return your cart then you're a bad person :evil2:

Hate mansplaining and dislike the men who do this. Do they get how pompous and condescending they are when they are doing this? :knockout:
Good for you for putting him in his place. Hopefully he learned from this experience. Probably not though. Once a mansplainer always a mansplainer. ::)

Sadly, he's a friend of ours but this was the first time he showed such disrespect, judgeyness, and extreme condescension. I clapped back pretty sternly and I think he was taken aback, though I don't think he learned from it because all he did was apologize for getting "riled up," not for mansplaining. So, not a true apology. (like you said, once a mansplainer, always a mansplainer!) DH and I feel both angry and disappointed. This will likely change our friendship dynamic. :(

At this moment, it's a fly in my bedroom banging itself against the lamp and my kindle. I'm chasing it around the room trying to suck it up into the vacuum cleaner. Arrrgh.

Do your cats ever show interest in them? Two of ours go crazy and generally lose interest before they catch them. Occasionally we get lucky though lol.

I know, right? I mean talk about lazy and entitled. Like someone else can just get the cart for them. Oy.

I'm sorry @Yelena that kind of fatigue is debilitating and can erode away at everything in your life. I am glad you beat it and hope it doesn't return. I have low thyroid function and sometimes I feel a similar kind of fatigue. It really can take over everything when it appears. Sending you lots of healthy wishes and good energy.

Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your child! Best wishes for a healthy and easy pregnancy and stay well!

I'm sorry :(
I hope this doesn't sound cliche because I mean it from my heart but you are better off knowing now than not if you kwim. Less energy to put into the friendship. Disappointing yes but knowing is always better than not knowing IMO. After the initial shock I am always thankful when people show me who they truly are. I am very sorry he turned out to be this way. :(

OMG yes and I am so sorry you and so many teachers and kids are dealing with this new way of teaching during the pandemic. I spoke with my youngest nieces yesterday and it seems like tests are now timed due to preventing cheating while taking them at home on the computer. And it is very challenging. My nieces are super bright and if they are finding this new way challenging I am sure many are. Add to the mix computer/internet glitches and oy what a mess it can be. Sending you and all the teachers and all the kids lots of good vibes and hoping soon things return to a more normal way of life but while the pandemic continues hoping all the kinks in the system get worked out. And above all else stay well and be safe! Keeping you in my thoughts.

You know he doesn't live here anymore...at least not most of the time. I hope this doesn't mean you won't visit after the pandemic is over....

Sorry @Jambalaya that is a whole lot of pains in the neck to deal with and I am hoping you are doing OK!

I love you @Bayek and I am always here for you (off-line as well as on) and Greg and I are sending you hugs and loads of good wishes!!!

@lyra the only place to start is exactly where you are and how you have been managing. One day at a time and one hour at a time when that gets to be overwhelming. No one is immune to the stress all around us and you are going to be A OK. You have your loved ones there for you and we are here for you too whenever you want to chat or vent or laugh or cry or just look at some pretty bling. Sending you hugs and good wishes. Look how far we have come and we can do this. (((Hugs))).

As for decorating if you have the energy and desire why don't you start a thread and maybe PSers can add some thoughts? There are lots of things one can do to make decor changes in the house and lots of inexpensive things one can do to brighten the space.
