If you have seen any of my other posts, I am sure you all realize that I am obsessed with the Tacori 2620 setting. But I am wondering if anyone knows what makes it so different than other halo rings? No denying that halo rings are beautiful, but they were never for me. I tried many on, but didn''t like how they looked on my finger. But that all changed with the 2620. :) I am thinking it is because of how small the stones are around the diamond. Does anyone know how big they are? I want to be very specific when describing it to my ff in case he goes with a different ring. Maybe it is because they are pave? I don''t know what it is. Did anyone else feel the same way???

It''s the delicate halo for sure. I lusted after it obsessively online so I decided to go try it on in the store and that was it. I really needed to have it. I have lusted after many other halos too. The halo on the 2620 adds a classy little sparkle without overwhelming.

I''m not sure exactly how big they are, but they are tiny.

The size and placement of the halo under the stone are unique I think.

If you want this ring, then give your BF a photo of the ring with the number of the ring and also the name of a local jewler you sells it and tell him this is the only setting you are interested in!

You know it is pricey though, right? Over $2k. Make sure he knows that if he cannot afford it then perhaps get you a simple solitaire so you can sve up as a couple to get this setting later

This is a good obsession. It is soooo pretty.

Hi getting excited! I am with you! I''m one of many who are so obsessed with Tacori 2620

. I''ve looked many different styles, but then I keep coming back to Tacori 2627 or 2620. I chose 1.63ct for my center stone, so I think that the criss cross shank (2627) would be too overwhelming for the stone, IMHO. So, I decided to go with 2620. (I just ordered it thru GOG!!) What I like about 2620(& most of Dantela collection) is that the vintagy look, the intricate basket, and the delicate look of halo which is there to accentuate the center stone. The halo also gives the stone a look of cushion, which makes the setting very unique, too.

it is really pretty :) the halo is delicate and a perfect size

Yes, unfortunately I do not know how expensive it is

One reason I think he may go for a different style. I just worry he will try to get something similar and I really have not found anything similar that compares. I think I would prefer something completely different!

Alii, I am so jealous you have this on order!! Can''t wait to see pictures when it gets here!

Pricey, yes. We paid over 5k in platinum for an extra large setting.

Then I would tell him that if he cannot get this setting now you do not want a replica and would prefer a $250 wg solitaire and you will get the setting later!

I would guess that the halo is made of half-pointers. I had a similar setting custom made with half pointers in platinum. I love it, but the cost ended up being comparable to the Tacori, so I would say the savings are not enough to get something else if you want the Tacori. It is just an expensive setting, whether you go custom or go with Tacori.

I wanna co-sign on everything Alii is saying

I love the 2620 and the 2627 & I hope to upgrade with either one of these Tacoris or something similar in the near future. The halo is perfect and the look of the basket is very vintage. Plus the center stone looks much bigger with the halo!

Getting Excited stay excited! There are options that can make this ring more affordable. Start with white gold. And the size of your center stone will play a large part in determining the costs. I've seen the medium 2620 round in platinum (with pave) for $3,025 on the internet when the MSRP is $3,800. So make sure you shop around.

I keep a MS Word document called my dream ring. It's filled with pictures from pricescope--- Tacori 2620 and Tacori 2627 as well as other photos from online. With this docoument, I've asked a few jewelers for a quote on a custom ring. One jeweler has given me a quote of $1,800 to $2,000 in platinum for something similar to these Tacoris. Plus I think the carat weight will be higher.

I struggle with whether I want a custom ring. It means nobody else has it.....However, there's just something about 2620 and 2627. It like buying a 2010 Honda Accord which almost looks like a 3 or 5 series BMW...but it's just not the BMW

But Hondas are great cars right?

I have a soft spot for this setting too!

I have thought about getting it custom made too. Although I love the tacori name, I do not feel like I need a tacori ring. But my concern is that if I had it made, it would look different. I have seen so many rings, and this one is so unique. Would a jeweler really be able to replicate it? And, if they could, would the price really be that different?

Do you have pictures, pink tower? I am interested to see what a similar ring would look like. Thanks!

not sure how to quote from another post...but did you see this on the show me the ring forum?

topic About to propose, here''s the new E-ring I got

Got this from Diamond.com
They are no longer an authorized Tacori dealer, so they are selling all their Tacori settings for huge discounts, I got the Tacori 2620 for only $995
The diamond is princess cut 0.60ct H SI1 Ideal Cut with GIA certificate.
What do you think?

It might not always be true, but I have a notion that custom made jewelries are expensive

. My understanding of Tacori rings are sort of like customized pieces, because settings are handcrafted to fit your center stone. I agree with getting excited for not be able to achieve the look you expect if you go custom. When I was at my appraiser''s office, he gave me an option of having the ring custom made. He said, "customize with a touch of our own twist." I didn''t ask him what he meant, but I like the way 2620 look and didn''t want to add the twist to it. If I upgrade my stone later in my life for a larger one, I would have to let the setting go(very expensive waste) because more than likely the stone would be too big for the mounting. But this is my one and only upgrade, so I wanted to stick to my original plan which is to go with Tacori

it''s not a round halo - it''s a cushion shaped halo... that''s what *I* like about it anyway :)

I absolutely adore this setting!!! So much that we ordered it last Saturday and I absolutely cannot wait to get it. We had looked at several jewelers and I had actually went and saw this ring by myself a couple of months ago. I knew it was the one when I saw it. My SO at the time (now Fiance) had not fell in love with anything we had looked at. He loved the 2620. We ended up buying it in WG which wasn''t a big deal to me because I really didn''t see the point of paying $1000 more for platinum right now. We just recently bought a house, so we have a lot of other expenses and I''m still in school. In the end, if we ever decide to upgrade the ring, maybe I''ll get platinum down the road. Also I had to consider that if I want the matching eternity ring, it will be very pricey in platinum as well, so I figured I''d save some money and go WG all the way. My center stone is a 1.35 round solitaire and it is breathtaking in person. I got the medium size setting and the halo makes it look like a 2 carat stone!

Anyway, I keep coming back to pricescope to get my tacori fix until my ring arrives! :)
