Hello,
After having shopped around various retail stores I must sadly admit that I''ve come across many rip-off''s.
So now I''m seriously considering turning to online sites for loose diamond purchase.
My question is, what would be considered a good buy for a diamond unseen off the net?
I''m looking for a diamond that''s:
Cut - Ideal
Clarity - VS2 (because only 1 in 100 can see inclusion.. so it''s good enough for me)
Color - F (because to the human eye, it''s just as good as D and E)
Carat - ~1 carat (just because
)
Fluorescence - None to negligible (although I can live with medium, and strong if it doesn''t result in murky diamond)
Polish - Excellent to Ideal
Symmetry - Very Good (I learned from this site that the symmetry can be Very Good and not better in order to get a better cut)
Girdle - Thin to Medium or Slightly Thick (since too thick will affect weight and spread adversely)
Beyond these, I would then take the diamond''s crown, pavillion, table, depth, and culet info and punch them into the Holloway Cut Advisor and expect a score of <2 (i.e. Excellent)
If I can find something online that matches the criteria above, would it be a good enough buy for a diamond that I haven''t seen off the net?
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Truly appreciate it.
