What is an XXX stone?

I put in a pricescope request for diamond info. A representative from ERD wrote back and asked me if I would consider XXX stones with a GIA certificate. What are XXX stones? Thanks for the info.

Excellent cut, polish and symmetry.

I think they mean a GIA triple excellent, like an AGS triple 0. GIA uses 'excellent' while AGS uses a numerical system with 0 being the best.

Triple excellent grade in cut, polish and symmetry. Polish and symm, VG and better is hard to distinguish by the laymen without equipment. GIA cut grade is a little iffy, I would add another criteria and that is Ex cut with a Holloway Cut adviser score below 2.
