1) I’m trying to go through any product that has just a little left so I can get rid of the package— whether it is skin care, shampoo, I found old dry carpet shampoo I’m doing right now.

2) I have a beautiful wooded view out my back windows, but the sections have like a hundred little window panes that are actually removable— though they have been painted over. I’ve been dying to remove them. Probably it will be a giant mess and DH will get frustrated, but it’s on my list.

3) paint chipping off the corners of walls. I’m going to see if I have leftover paint and fix that. The hall is one of the Benjamin Moore OC whites so I might be able to figure it out (I know the trim is vanilla milkshake) and order some online if I don’t already have it. I can’t believe it looks so bad, but we go about our day not looking at these things— I’m sure you all understand.

4) if my college kids don’t hang up the bee house today, I’m going to get mad.

5) I made my son yesterday go all around the house changing burnt out light bulbs. Can you believe he asked me how to do that??!!!

My DH is redesigning our bike canopy to enable me to get into and out of the bike keeping my spine neutral. The new design enables the canopy to lift up so I can get out and in without bending my spine.

He is also rebuilding the bike wheels.

He just finished repairing his electronics. Morantz Receiver and Kardon Receiver.

My dh also went through our supply closet (needed reorganization) so it is better organized now. Sadly we didn't find any products we could use but I did throw out a lot of expired stuff.

My only "improvement" project is starting to work with (small) weights to help build muscle and strengthen.

We have lots of projects on hold right now due to not being at the beach house and also some projects here that are on hold because we cannot get the work done amidst what is happening. For example we need to paint our whole apartment but the outside of the building needs work before we can do that and with Covid 19 that is all on hold.

One day at a time.

You and your family are being very productive and that is great!

I am cleaning and reorganizing closets. I hate this job, but love the finished product.

@whitewave - Thanks for sharing the list from your sister’s workplace. I am going to print it so we can do a checklist.

If I had a full hazmat suit available to me right now I would consider cleaning the childrens' bathroom. Boys 10 and 13, so you can see the need for protective gear completely aside from whatever is going on with this virus! In the absence of that chore, I have pretty much laundered every damn piece of clothing, sheet, towel, and blanket in the house and am still looking for more things I can run through the washer. Hmmm... wonder if the Australian shepherd would fare better with or without fabric softener...

I am going through all of the cabinets, throwing out cookbooks I no longer use, clearing out the laundry room cabinets. I have a lot of storage in my home and after so many years, clutter has accumulated. Time to get organized since I can't go into my office.

That’s cool about the bike and I believe we had that receiver or still do or something. Our husbands would get along lol

One of the projects for this year is to do my garden, originally, it would involve clearing it (it is currently a jungle), putting matting down to prevent weeds before topping up with gravels so that I can use it for BBQs and sit outside etc., and to have the foundation laid for a outhouse/shed.

Due to parking issues where I live (small cul de sac, every house has more than one car except mine currently), compounded by the need to park my camper van due in September 2020, and the need to refurbish the existing shed/garage (re-felting the top, and replacing the wooden panels that are old and rotten etc.), I have decided to put up a new shed/outhouse in the garden, for the existing shed/garage to be removed, so as to free up the space to park my camper van behind a new gate.

This means I have no choice except to tidy the existing shed/garage, to clear and sort out what I have hoarded in there since I moved in back in 2006! Some of the boxes from the move have not even been opened!

The work was going to start in June 2020 after my next door neighbours' son (he and his dad is doing the work for me) has finished his exams. However, as school has been suspended and exams cancelled, the work may start earlier than planned, pending on my neighbour's schedule as he has a day job of his own.

It is about time I clear out the shed, however, I would be lying if I say I am looking forward to it as I hate tidying and housework!

DK :))

I always make such a mess reorganizing things but then it finally looks great.

I’m also in the utility room moving and reorganizing things and it’s also the bulldog room. English bulldogs are VERY OCD and prefer familiar things. They are in there with me with such worried looks on their faces. Then they have to investigate what I did.

They hate that part. They are loving that we are almost all home (1 kid in greater New Orleans area... more on that later. I’m letting him stay for now for a variety of reasons....) and I bought a beef tenderloin yesterday. I had to trim it up a lot, so I cut the silver skin and all the other gook off and cut it up in small pieces and lightly pan fried it. I’m using it to stretch their kibble and froze the rest for later.

Chewy is out of their dog food! They stress it’s coming in and I have enough to last about another week, but I figured I’d better stretch some now.

So, yeah, my dogs are eating surf and turf:roll2:

Fix our garage door opener.
One of the two big springs broke.

Repairpeople here charge $350 to fix it.
But you can buy the springs online for $25, and watch many good do-it-yourself videos on YT.

Fun fun fun.

Oh, yeah. That’s a big job. You should take before, during and after photos.

The weather isn’t too hot and now is as good a time as any, so you can work slower and more deliberately.

I’m also cleaning my jacuzzi bath tub properly—filling it, I forget the exact formula— like 1/4 cup bleach and 1/4 cup washing machine granules— I know when it smells right lol. Run for 20 mins. Drain. Rinse. Fill with water and run 20 mins just water.

It’s a huge corner tub and I love the soaking and space, but I’ll never get a jacuzzi again. We don’t even use it— keep it turned off from the breaker.

I have a few woodworking and paint things we could do outside, but it’s been raining so we can’t do that right now.

My wood plantation doors need to be sanded and stained again and I have to seal a bunch of things. Etc.

Yup. We had that and DH kept saying he would fix it and he bought the parts and then 8 months later I hired the company to do it and also put an outside keypad so the kids wouldn’t get locked out.

good luck lol.

Honey, mine are in their 20s and it’s still going on... lol... but I get it!

@Queenie60 yes, that is also what I’m doing in the utility room. I’m in purge mode. Whatever I would have normally kept, it’s getting trashed.

I told my daughter it’s in case I die of CV. They won’t have to do it lol. Luckily she knew it was both practical and a joke.

@kenny People have died replacing those springs. Please be careful.

Not currently actively doing anything, but we have all the paint and rollers ready to completely repaint the house. It was something we were going to do anyway this year, but we may leave it until we can have all the windows open to help things dry quicker.

We’ve made a start on pruning in the garden, but at the moment, we’re trying to keep as calm as we can and source food as it looks we’re about to go in to complete lockdown here.

The whole family (including my teens 15, 17) pitched in did a full spring-cleaning the other day (since Dh sent the cleaning ladies away), we washed every sheet, towel, cushion cover in the house....thoroughly cleaned all the bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, wiped down every light switch, door knob etc. We vacuumed, we mopped....things that my kids have never done before because we have had cleaning ladies come in every other week since before they were born.

SO is going to build a deer proof, raised garden. I'm excited to grow some veggies.

Thank you!
Yes, I've read very much about the danger and how to do it safely.

Thanks again!

@whitewave Am I the only one who sees Big Foot in your back yard?! Is this a joke?
I couldn’t even read the replies without doubling back to look again. :-o

I was waiting for someone to notice!!! I gave him to my husband for our anniversary and we love it! We move it around and take turns scaring the crap out of each other:mrgreen:

It was @kzigo’s idea!! Lol

It’s a hit.

 I thought I was going crazy. That’s hysterical. So much fun!! We had a running joke here with this ventriloquist puppet. I hid him all over the house. Freaked my DS out (he was ~21yo). It was a fun summer.E1C4F95A-90E6-4619-BF8B-F2EDC03D4F4C.jpeg

I cleaned my stove today the 4 yo "helped" so it felt as heavy as a home improvement project!

@Slick1 My kids would have killed me if I put a clown or ventriloquist dummy anywhere in the house. Heck, I wouldn't be able to stand having one in the house myself!

I’m slowly cleaning out closets, organizing my college daughter’s stuff from school and doing some furniture chalk painting. I’ve already dropped off two big bags to goodwill. I’m also just generally organizing my house.

Haha @lyra ! You know, as scary as that puppet seems, my folks had a thing for interesting Christmas gifts when I was a child. He was one of those gifts. So he has stayed with me ... about 45 years now
