What does wearing lipstick mean to you?

By amping up the color of the lips, a woman is subconsciously echoing the color of her vaginal lips, or labia, in an effort attract attention from men.

Yup nailed it. This is so me. Ashamed to be called out for this.

Seriously who dreams up this nonsense? And unless you are down there with a speculum and a headlamp...

For the record, that "quote of me" is not what Kenny said.
Someone else said it and is in the "howstuffworks" link that Kenny posted. :))

You are correct -- sorry! I did not mean to imply that those were your words.

I did not like how that looked when I posted it but didn't know what to do to fix it...

Thanks.
Just a technicality.

No worries. :wavey:

Imo it sounds more like an association a male would make. Like this guy I knew who thought women wore pants with "camel toe" deliberately to entice men, along the lines of showing cleavage on top. I could see why he might make that association but it was still hilarious. And I wondered why he didn't think of the more parallel comparison, men with "moose knuckle." Or... maybe he did think that would lure women?

Full lips are associated with youth though because they thin with age, and lips can also be pale due to poor health, so accentuating them makes sense in that way.

I love wearing lipstick, especially metallic ones. Gucci has some beautiful metallics.

It means my cat's butthole and my lips can match  (ala kenny's other thread).

Wait, wait, wait, I didn't read the link. "By amping up the color of the lips, a woman is subconsciously echoing the color of her vaginal lips, or labia, in an effort attract attention from men." ... what.

If my labia is the same shade as my lipstick, that warrants an ER visit! :errrr: It's never that bright red/purple, not even when I'm menstruating. Was I trying to attract a man the wrong way during my youth?:lol:

This thread is shocking and outrageous! :-o

Who started this thread, anyway?!? :naughty:

Well today I'm wearing deep coral with sparkle on top;)2 What does that say about my natural colouring:lol-2:

Now, AFAIC, wearing lipstick makes me think that Revlon thinks my mouth is some cat's butthole.

No thanks, Revlon. :nono:

Love lipstick & love lip-stain
I tend not to wear lipstick full on but also treat it like a stain and dab dab dab with my finger until it appears more natural looking.

I highly doubt that women are going around subconsciously trying to match their lips to their labia but who knows...

I personally wear makeup for one reason and one reason only:

Artistic Expression

The process & act of putting it on alone is calming and sort of meditative. It very much feels like war paint! I get to express how I'm feeling inside & if I feel good, I tend to look good, (not the other way around.)

I would say that 85% of the time I'm wearing zero makeup but if I do go out I prefer to put a bit of makeup on as I'm very very pale complected & again, it's just fun to apply.

I also just adore a good lip stain that doubles as a cheek stain! All I prefer to wear most of the time is a good lip/cheek stain, light brown eye brow pencil and chapstick.
❤️

Lipstick is love! I love apricot and papaya color :D Not too much on the bright or dark ones.

I've always found the metallics tend to excentuate the creases in my lips. Shame because I love them on younger lips=)2
