Over on SMTB what is that blue #TBT thingie?

I'm aware that # is called hashtag and has something to to with Twitter (which I'm not on) but what is a hashtag doing in a PS post title?

Further to stephanies post, it is also a "tag" of some sort. If you click on the blue box it opens up all other "TBT" tagged posts. Jewel of the week ("JOTW") also has a tag for this.
Looks like a new tracking/categorizing system overall.

Throwback Thursday is a popular internet trend used among social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Users will often post nostalgic pictures of their past accompanied by the hashtag #TBT or ThrowbackThursday.

But I'm sure everyone but me knew that.

Yea still, why is in a PS thread title?
Is this the future, clickable thingies sprinkled in everything everyone writes?

@psadmin can confirm, but I was under the impression that the 'hashtag' TBT tags are added to older threads to bump (with an obvious explanation for the bump) some interesting threads that might otherwise be lost in the mists of time.

The JOTW tag signifies that the thread has been referenced in a blog post, and is usually reserved for recent posts, I think:

I don't believe there is anything nefarious going on, as if you hover over the tags in the thread titles with your cursor, it is not clickable, and the threads are PS threads not linked to any particular vendor or referencing any particular vendor's product(s). I think they are just titled 'hashtags' because it is a common parlance/thing.

I think there are two uses of the word 'tag' here!

I was referring to the bold blue tag in the OP, which is not clickable, but I can see that there are 'thread tags' that can be added by a thread starter (or admin/mods, I presume, as it would seem presumptuous for a thread starter to declare their jewel to be 'JOTW' ) and then seen at the top of the thread when it is opened.

Clicking on them takes one to this link, in the case of the TBT tag:

which I don't think would infer any tracking taking place - or at least no more than might take place anyway, if indeed it does take place.
