Hi,

sorry i''m new to IS images.. can anyone tell me whether this IS image that my appraiser provided of my diamond is ok?
Thanks!!

diamond IS image 002.jpg

the picture of a picture makes it kind of hard to tell what''s really going on there but i don''t see any glaring problems.
i hope you enjoy your diamond!

The diamond looks tilted and there are some odd black spots on the IS but in terms of light return, it looks really good, no leakage to speak of.

waiter! there''s a fly in my soup!! What is that anyway?? LOL

The black spot isn''t something you see everyday...but the image shows very little leakage. Is that an inclusion or is it how the IS image is showing up??

Sorry, mcblohe, I don''t know how to read those images. I hope it''s good news!

Hi
Thanks for your responses.
I don''t think it''s an inclusion as it''s a GIA VS2 clarity diamond.
I think i''ll ask the appraiser what that is....

The diamond shows little leakage, which is good. I suspect that the extra black areas is the result of the diamond''s average optical symmetry (not H&A), and therefore showing more areas of obstruction? I am not sure though. It''s better to ask the experts here.

How funny! I was looking at it thinking it looked like a mini heart. Kind of cute as long as you can''t see it in person!!

how can you tell there is only little light leakage? what would it look like if there was a lot?

Lots of white areas.

thank you, I understand now.

Hi
Thanks for all your responses.
I''ve checked with the appraiser, and they said that its a hole that is drilled for the stone to sit on, to take the IS pictures. They say that when looking through the scope normally, the black spot is not there. And if it were light leakage, it''ll be white, so i guess it''s ok. WHew
