I have decided to trade in my asscher. The place my husband purchased it has a full trade in poliy. The new stone actually costs 1000 less than the original stone so I will end up with a store credit.
I had posted when I first got the ring about the large asscher table size in my center stone of my 3 stone ring.
My current asscher is 1.56 carats, G color, VS1 (I don't have the numbers in front of me so I'm going by memory) I believe its is about 6.4x6.4 a 72% table and 70% depth. It is a pretty stone but after wearing it a few months I am getting less and less happy with the large table. The big table is driving me crazy and in some lights all you see is table.
Polish on my current stone is listed on the GIA cert as good. Symmetry is very good.
Because it is not my engagment ring (I have been married 11 years!) but an anniversary gift, I gently approached my husband about trading it for a better cut asscher. I love the 3 stone setting, love the sides so I would simply switch out the center stone. His response is he does not care, as long as I'm happy and wear the ring. After all, I LOVE the setting and love the style. And since I'm the one wearing it he said go for it. The vendor we bought from is not local so I would have to do it mail order.
Anyway, tell me what you all think of this stone. I am thinking of bringing it in to an appraiser to look at but it still costs me shipping so I want to get some opinions before I look at the stone. Do you think I would be happier with the stone below?
H color, VS1,
GIA cert
1.64 carat
$9.300
depth 68.5
table 60
girdle med.
cutlet N
polish EX
symmetry EX
Flourescence NO (this is a good thing to me)
Measurments: 6.51x6.51x4.46
What do you all think? I know you can't judge an asscher by numbers but does it look good on paper and should I bring it in to look at?
The original stone is a G, I would be willing to drop to an H color for better cut. Do you think the better cut H would make up for the G less good cut? The side stones in my ring are a G and are .40 each, VS1. So I don't think you would see a huge difference expecially since they are so much smaller than the center stone.
The original stone cost $10,400. It would cost me about $100 for postage so I would end up with a net of $1,000 credit at the store
I could use the credit to reset my solitaire pendant
And the new diamond I have listed is actually a little bit larger.
give me honest thoughts please
