Price looks OK to me. Do you like the big table / smaller depth look? A liitle more info on the pav and cr angles might help if you won't be seeing it before buying. An independent appraiser wouldn't be a bad idea either, especially for details on the inclusions.
Thanks. The table does seem a little big to me, but it is in the "very good range" that is acceptable. Also, I guess this will make it look a little bigger too! I have already seen the diamond, and it is beautiful, but I just don't want to be taken for a ride. The price was originally at $14k, but did some negotiating. No pav and cr angle info on the GIA cert though. I just want it to sparkle and it was tough to tell with all the fluorecent lighting in the store.
Take it outside and/or into their offices with normal lighting. Look at it in lots of different lighting scenarios and side by side other ideal cut diamonds. If it looks good to you then, go for it. THe bright overhead jewelry store lights make ALL diamonds sparkle like crazy, but that isn't real life.
Unfortunately, the store is on the 6th floor and I doubt they'll allow me to take it that far outside the store! Do these measurements make it "ideal?" I'm clueless.....
Also, there is really only one inclusion. It has a big black dot right in the table...which makes it an SI2. Other than that, it could pretty much be considered a VVS1 in my book.

Is the stone "Ideal"? That depends on whose version of Ideal you go by. There is no definite industry standard. With apologies to Dave Atlas, the closest thing to a "standard" is the AGS cut grade of 0 (zero). Your stone would not be considered Ideal at all. Not for cut proportions and likely not for polish or symmetry either.
The large-ish table does not make it look bigger that it should. It is the same diameter as a well-cut stone would be. It is just cut a little squattier. Whether the fat 'n shallow on this stone is a detriment to its looks can't be determined from those few numbers you have. More numbers would tell more of the story but still wouldn't tell all.
All that being said, it may well be a great stone at a good price. It also might be creeping into the range of cut proportions which might yield a very, very average stone. I would not buy from a place that wouldn't let me take it out of the in-store lighting, but if the return policy is generous you could always have it checked out by a pro before the return time is up.
In the end, it's your eyes are the ones that need to be pleased!
Another thing, VVS1 is a very tough grade to get and I doubt that even without the big black dot this stone would get it. SI1 can be completely eye clean. VS1 and VS2 stones have surprisingly small inclusions rarely seen with the unaided eye. VV2s have inclusions are TINY and VVS1s are in the hard-to-see-with-50x-magnification-even-if-you-know-where-to-look range!
