Hi there,

Thanks again to those who helped with my ''buying in Singapore'' queries last week. In the end my husband did buy a diamond (which is now being set

!), and the details I have from the certificate are:

Shape: princess
Weight: 1.39ct
Clarity: VVS2
Flourescence: nil
Colour grade: white (H)
Measurements: 6.38 x 6.36 x 4.48mm
Girdle: medium 3% polished
Culet: pointed
Table width: 78%
Crown height: 5.5%
Pav. depth: 62%
Finish grade: good
(HRD certified)

Not that I can change it now (!), but would still love to hear your thoughts on this stone.
cheers

Congrats on your new stone! The most important thing with fancy cuts is that they look amazing to you in person. When going by the numbers alone, people usually shoot for a table that's smaller than the depth (with both in the mid-high 60's to low 70's) and a crown height of at least 10% (I think Bluenile suggests at least 8% though). That being said, there are always exceptions to the rules with princess cuts. I personally would have dropped in clarity and focused more on cut, but as long as the stone is a stunner and you're happy with it nothing else matters

Congrats again!
