Looks lovely. Really lovely.

I''d take it!

If it''s for you... and you''ve seen L colored antique cuts in person. Then GO FOR IT.

But if it''s for your SO as a surprise. I''d make sure this is something she''d really like. It''s a very PERSONAL stone.

I agree w/ Gypsy it looks awesome from the pics online, but you def. need to be OK w/ an L colored stone (which color you probably could see in person but might not be able to detect from online pics). This is a link that may also help:

However, the L color in an old cut has a different effect than the "L" that comes out of a round brilliant so take the above with a grain of salt.

If you have the opportunity to look at L colored stones in your area I''d do so. If not, make sure they have a good refund policy and go for it. From the pics online, it looks really beautiful and is a good price.

The only thing I''d add to as a caveat to using the GOG guide to color... is that they are comparing modern IDEAL cut round brilliants face up (face down pics are good guide though) and this is an antique cut stone. So face up it will show a lot more color than the face up shots of the L''s on there.

But if you WANT an authentic antique look (which I would love) this is a great stone.

thanks so much everyone.. i really adore this ring. just hope noone buys it before i do.

I think it''s beautiful!!! However, you might want to make sure that you are comfortable with L colored diamonds before you purchase it. They aren''t for everyone.

It''s gorgeous! As Gypsy says, an old cut with an L colour will show colour more than a modern brilliant, but to me a touch of tint is part of the charm of so many of these old cuts
