Hi,

I am narrowing down the choices for my girlfriend's e-ring. What do you think of this setting from dimend Scaasi? I would do it without the 3-sided pave. My girlfriend likes 6 prong settings, so that is why I selected this one. I would love your honest opinions. I can take it.

Would it change the look to not have the 3-sided pave though? It would be just a lot of plain metal showing from the profile view.

I''ve never heard of the vendor, but I like the setting.

The other option is a fishtail pave setting from Whiteflash, but with a 6 prong head. Not sure if this would look good though?

The above setting with this 6 prong head...

I personally like the ring suggested to you by goCubsgo better than the one you are looking to purchase. The diamonds on the Whiteflash ring ''flow'' better to me, a sleeker, smoother look...IMHO. However, everyone is different, and by no means is the ring you are looking a ''bum'' of a setting, but my personal taste is dictating my response, so in the end, go with something you know SHE will love.

GOOD LUCK!

Hands down the WF fish tail pave... The other one is very pretty no doubt. BUT as an owner of a 3 sided pave RHR, it''s a bit of a risk... Stones can fall out no matter how well they are set, and for an ering, you don''t want to babysit it 24/7... Thus my vote for the WF setting. I know someone who has it, and loves it. HTH, good luck!!!

Hmm personally I LOVE the SCASII setting but I can understand the concern about stone maintenance. However I love the look of the cathedral like part of the SCASII ring. They''re both very pretty though.

Hi,

I would NOT do 3-sided pave, you can purchase the setting without it. Does that change your opinion?

I am really liking the SCAASI. The 6 prong is gorgeous!

The Scaasi ring is gorgeous. I''m biased and I have a 3 sided pave setting. If you''re not going for the 3 sided pave then I think that''s too much metal. You would be better off going with the WF since it''s beautiful as well.

I like the Scaasi really well but I'd be worried about maintenance too. ETA: The WF setting is really pretty too.

I love the DS setting - and DS is a very good and reputable vendor. Isaac will take good care of you there!

I like both settings. I would be afraid about pave falling out though.

They are both pretty but I prefer the DS setting.

Inquire about their warranty policiy (in the event that the pave loosens or falls out). Its very comforting and speaks volumes when a company stands behind their products.

I agree! If you dont want to do the 3 sided pave what about just the top row of pave on the shank (like the WF ring
but on the DS setting?) I think that would be really pretty!

Hi,

Thank you for your replies so far! There is no worry about stones falling out on the Scaasi setting because it would NOT be 3-sided pave; the pave would only be on the shank.

Does anyone like the Whiteflash setting I posted with the 6 prong head I posted a photo of? What do you think of that option?

I like the way the head is integrated into the band on the Dimend Scaasi setting. I think it's much more graceful than the head of the WF band, whether the WF head is 4 pongs or 6 prongs. I just think the WF head looks "plopped" on top of the band.

I don't know if you're in Chicago working with Isaac personally, or working with him online, but either way, he's a good guy who has an excellent reputation. I met him recently, and he's very knowledgeable and has tons of setting options.

ETA: Just saw your screen name -- oh, yeah, you're a Chicago-ite! Go Cubs!

I personally think the WF setting is the best of both worlds and would go with that.

Personally, I prefer the elegance of the WF ring & its head over the prior.. but.. that''s just me. I think its a little more classic looking.

I totally agree with SDL. Beyond the maintenance issues of the 3-sided pave, the DimenSCAASI setting is pretty trendy, IMO and the WF setting will stand the test of time.

I do however, agree with the poster who noted that the DS setting is more graceful in the way that the head is attached to the shank. Is it possible to get WF to make the setting with a slight cathedral look to it? If not, I still think the WF setting is a great choice.

Okay, again. I am NOT getting 3-sided pave! Repeat: NOT getting 3-sided pave.

Thanks

I would go with the whiteflash setting. I think the Scaasi will be too much metal without the pave.

I really really like the Scassi. I love the cathedral and the lines. Personally I think the WF one is boring.

All that matters is what you like though, so get whatever you are drawn to.

LOL! Maybe it would help if you could find someone to photoshop out the 3-sided pave and re-post the picture!!

I like the Scaasi better; the lines are more graceful -- with or without the da-- pave!!

I like the scaasi better. It seems more graceful and elegant that the WF ring. (Plus I don''t like solitaires where the stone looks like it''s kind of balanced on the band). That probably makes no sense to anyone but me. In any event, I prefer the DS. Good luck shopping!!

Scaasi all the way for me.

No one really sees the sides anyways :) so i think it would be fine w/o the three sided pave..pretty setting!

Both are gorgeous, but I really love the WF!

I prefer the three sided pave, but IMO you can''t go wrong with either. Both are beautiful.

I really like the DS setting with the three-sided pave shank. I would get a one-sided pave wedding band to go with it
