I want to buy my husband a diamond ring for our upcoming second anniversary! I am thinking of setting an approx. .25ct RB into one of Bruce Boone''s titanium tension set rings a la Mara''s husband''s ring (seen here).

And yes... I know how some of you feel about men and diamonds

but I love it and he is totally into it as well, so put aside that qualm for now.

I''m trying to pick a setting design so I wonder if you can give me your opinions on the following options. He is built like a football player but likes to wear pink, so keep that in mind! Think "statement piece"... For all options, the ring would be 6mm in width and the diamond about 4mm in diameter, his finger is size 10.

Option 1: Classic round with white gold and sterling silver mokume gane. The inset is white gold and stirling silver that has been folded over and over to create a striped effect. I would ask that the silver be oxidized.

Option 2: the profile of the ring is flat, still with mokume. This picture shows yellow gold and sterling silver. Any style inlay can be used on any style ring.

Option 3: This is the ring that Mara''s hubby has, I believe. Simple, elegant.

Option 4: simplicity at its finest.

If he likes pink, how about rose gold in the mokume gane in the inset?

I like option 3 but is he not worried it might spin?

I don''t think he likes pink that much

Would be gorgeous though!

D&T If it is sized correctly it won''t spin. Or he can do what we ladies do and turn it upright!

I vote #3.

#3

I vote number 1

,, my hubby plays with his ring, and spins it around a lot, and I always thought of getting him a ring with diamond in it, but he wouldn''t have it. I really like #3 as stated before, please post hand pics when you get it, I always like to see mens diamond ring as well.

#4. But I think we need to see pics of your hubby to make an educated assessment.

l vote #1!

I really like option 2 - I think it has a nice amount of visual interest and if your hubby likes pink and is into fashion (is he?) it seems like the best choice to me.

I like #3.

He liked to dress well but isn''t overly into fashion... he''s only moderately metro

#1!!

Another vote for #3 but I do like #1 as well

Seeing how I got palladium and silver mokume bands for our wedding bands, my vote would have to be number 1 as well :)

I like option 2 with silver stuff in the middle instead of gold or option 3.

I like option #1!

#1 all the way!!!

My vote...
NUMBER 1 !

I like #4 the most. It''s simple and i could imagine most men being able to wear that with ease.

I vote #1

Number 3! I like number one as well but I'm not sure all men would care for it. Course you know his tastes better than anyone!

#1 fo sho!
