Here is one of the three radiants I am interested in. The others are still being called in or I''m waiting for information on. I wanted to get your opinions on this one. I''ve looked on the idealscope website to see which pictures exhibit good characteristics, but this is all new to me. The depth is a bit higher, but I have had difficulty finding a stone with the L/W that I want (around 1.1 - 1.15) and have a great cut and doesn''t cost thousands more... The crown isn''t as high as the recommended, but this is already one of the higher ones I''ve found based on requesting sarins. This one is supposed to be totally eye clean.

Here are the specs:
G SI1
7.81 x 6.80 x 4.71 (1.15 L/W)
D 69.3%
T 64.0%
Crown Height 10.0%
C None
P Ex
S VG
F None
Cost $14,884

Let me know what you think!

I''m not crazy about this radiant, but that''s just me, and I''m far from an expert. When do you get information on the other ones in which you''re interested?

Just got the other one in. It seems to me the first one is a better choice. I can call WF and ask them what they think of the two and whether I should just wait till the right stone comes along... sigh....

I''m not in love with either of these stones, but the first one is better than the second. If you aren''t in too big of a hurry, you could wait for the perfect stone to come along, but if you have to pick one of these two, the first looks better.

So I bought both of these stones with the images above so I can see them in person, and I found a place to see the Original Radiants so I can compare them side by side. The Originals were so much prettier in person. If I looked at the GIA by itself, they actually rated lower (polish/symmetry), but the cut was soooo amazing! So now my dilemma is to decide whether I (and my hubby, oh I forgot about him) want to pay the premium, but once I saw the difference in cut, it may be hard to settle. Here is the information on the one I liked:

F VS2
2.04 ct
7.86 x 6.90 x 4.70 (1.14 L/W)
Depth (Traditional) 68.1%
Adjusted Depth 63.8%
Table 65%
Adjusted Crown 9.2%
G T-M
Culet None
P Good
S Good
F None

The stone was just gorgeous!!! I wish I had a picture of it. I guess I need to return the ones I purchased since I''m just not "in love" with them. Actually, both of these stones are quite nice, but now that I''ve seen the Original, they just don''t measure up. I''m sure I can find a very nice non-branded, but I''m now thinking that weeding through them to find "the one" would be quite a chore, especially since I''m feeling like I''ve found "the one."

2nd is better than 1st, but I am not a screaming fan of either or radiants in general.
Have you looked at other square stones? There are some nice newer varieties - unless you really like the crushed glass look

Actually, I''ve been looking at all the new square cuts, and I still like the radiant best. I went to Tiffany to see the Lucida cut over the weekend, but that didn''t change my mind. The Original Radiants that I saw varied slightly. One had more of the "crushed ice" look and the other was a combination of some definition in the facets and "crushed ice." The F/VS2 was the perfect combination, which I loved.

Pixie, you should definitely get the Original Radiant if that''s the one you like the best. They are nice stones, I''ve seen a few in person. I didn''t see them until after I got my generic radiant though. Quite honestly my generic radiant measured up well to the Original Radiants, but it is very well cut. I''ll agree with you that well-cut generic radiants are hard to find. I just happened to stumble on mine early in my search, so I got lucky.

Once you get your ring, be sure to post pics!
