What do you think of this JA pave setting?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to set a 1.7-2.0 ct diamond in this setting: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/platinum-half-moon-split-shank-engagement-ring-17870p.html

I'm having a hard time picturing what this would look like with a larger diamond as both of their "Recently Purchased" pictures only show diamonds less than 1 ct. Their stock photo is of a 1 ct diamond. Any opinions on how this will look with a larger diamond?

Also, do any of you helpful PS-ers have any opinions on rings with this amount of pave? It seems like stuff/gunk would easily get stuck in this type of setting. Any thoughts on keeping it clean?

I think gunk would collect in the area around the stones since it is channel set. I really prefer bead-set in this style of ring. You'd just have to not have it on when putting on lotion or doing anything that might get it dirty. We recommend that with most rings anyway just to keep them in excellent condition. You could clean it daily and avoid build-up. That would be your best bet! I'd look awhile for settings, though. You may find one you like better!
