Hi all!

I seriously do not need this ring as I have my engagement ring to focus on and that will be project in and of itself. But.. I saw this and thought it looked interesting and I haven't seen anything else like it. What do you think of it? What do you think it's worth?
It's 14k gold and it has 5 French cut diamonds totalling approx 1.20 Ct (H /I-VVS) 25 old cut diamonds totalling approx .40 Ct

I like it...love the french cuts! Would make a cute RHR.

Gorgeous ring. Love the style.

I don't know what it's worth but I LOVE it! I agree with tyty333, it would make an awesome RHR!

I'm not sure what the ring itself would be worth but the style is super interesting and the shape is very pleasing.

I like that ring very much.

It’s very beautiful. It could be a “travel ring” or a RHR.
What would I pay? If under $1,500 - yes. If between $1,500 and $2,000 I’d think about it. If over $2,000 - pass.

That's what I thought too until I looked up loose french cut diamonds of the same carat weight and found they sold for more than than the high end of that range...meaning were I try to recreate it. I'd pay more than the asking price (which is more than 2k) I think.

Hmm this is a hard decision!

How much over $2k?

I like it!

I would not pay $3500 even though I realize it would cost more than that to make a new one. I'd offer much less (like $2500) and see how much they will bargain on price. Be sure you are totally in love with it, though, before you even do that.

I have to agree with diamondseeker on this for that price. It is a lovely ring but not really a bargain at that price even for french cuts and the color is a bit low. Do they seem to be H/I or are they actually lower in color to anyone?

The stones look yellow.

you're right! Decided to hold off for now. Have other projects to focus on =)2

They seem lower than H/I to me which I think wouldn't be obvious except that they contrast with the melee.
Thank you for the input!

good advice, and I did pass in the end!

It’s a lovely ring and French cuts are rare, but at $3,500 that is too expensive seeing as the diamond are fairly low in colour and individually on the small side. Keep looking, your dream ring at a good price is out there!
