you may want to look at the quality of the cut too.
It will make a big difference!!
if you have not yet done so, I would suggest you to read on this website the "knowledge'' section.
very very helpful!
I would suggest you report concern on this and request the admins to move this to the rocky talky page. Those stats aren't really enough to go on. But a lot of ladies here like there older color vintage cut cushions. Do you have pictures? If not I would suggest looking at a website with some. GOG is great if you want to see what a stone that shape and color would look like. They sell vintage cushions as well as some other ps vendors. But theirs are very well regarded or light performance.
That's from Jewels by Erica Grace, who are a popular vendor here on PS. And it's on sale now!
It is almost certainly a beautiful diamond and it's in a lovely setting. JbEG typically doesn't handle junk. They have a return policy and Erica and Grace are both delightful to deal with.
There are also tons of photos and probably a video (I didn't check).
If you like the diamond, I'd say it's worth taking a chance on. If you don't like it when you see it in person, you can return it.
It looks like it's cut pretty well. The color doesn't look too bad...it's an antique diamond, but I think that setting actually enhances it. If you don't like diamonds with a tint, I wouldn't suggest buying it. But it is beautiful.
I would only add that this stone will definitely show it's warmth, not fancy yellow, but not the typically white diamonds are so popular. If you haven't seen a stone in this color range then it's probably a good idea to do so. It's not easy to find one however, you should probably browse local antique and estate shops for your best luck. As the others said JbEG have a great return policy and are wonderful to work with, so if you like the antique an vintage stones in lower colors, this is a very pretty choice and certainly worth a look at.
Is this ring for you or for someone else? Have they specifically requested an antique stone with warmth? I only ask because, as beautiful as it is, it may not be at all what someone is expecting and isn't a stone that I would just 'surprise' someone with unless I knew their taste and expectations very well. If this is for someone else and your still unsure, I would present it before the end of the return period in case they would like to make a change.
I think it's a beautiful stone and ring! But it really boils down to personal preference, for some it's just too much tint, others would love it. I think the only way to know for sure is to see it in person.
I did want to mention that I think I notice what's referred to as a maltese cross in a few of the pics. I believe it's a characteristic of some cushions - the center facets darken to show the shape of a cross in the center. No idea how noticeable it is in real life, and from what I understand there is nothing wrong with this feature, but it's just a certain look some care for and others don't. I just thought I'd bring it up since I noticed it, but I'm not an expert so someone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
