Hi,

I''ve been surfing on this forum for quite a while. Any comments about this diamond? Do you think it''s comparible to an ACA cut diamond in terms of brilliance and sparkle?

http://whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-2045486.htm#

I can''t find a similar requirement (E VS1/ VS2) in the 1.2carat range in the "A Cut Above" category.

Things that I notice about this diamond :
- slightly deep at 62 (maybe due to slightly thick girdle)
- polish/symm is not ideal/excellent .. only very good (does this matter much?)
- From the Sarin report, the crown angle is from 34.8-36.1 (quite a large range) This worries me a bit. Can you tell from the idealscope image if it''s still good?

Thanks,
C

Yeah, but that isn't too much. Would not consider this important at all.

No.

The IS looks pretty darn great, and this is way more important than the previous two things (62%and the finish). I would not credit Sarin with telling that range of angles so precisely. Anyway, if the variation would have been near 1 degree, I would have not paid much attention at all. This is more, but it doesn't seem to affect the looks of the stone - which may mean 2 things: Sarin went crazy (more likely, IMO), or the crown and pavilion angles are fit together so that the difference is compensated and the eight sides of the stone still work together well to deliver the expected brilliance (as per IS and precise pattern).
The diamond is not H&A proper, but has everything else going for it, IMO. I don't think pictures are great at telling what if any visible difference there is between this and one H&A by the book.

My (non-expert) 2c

Speaking of H&A, how about THIS - all in all, the two diamonds have about the same size (by diameter). It doesn''t seem like either this or the cut difference would be major. Whichever sounds better to you...

Also, does F-VS2 stand a chance?

It is a bit deep so it doesn''t face up quite as large as most 1.2 carat stones but other than that I like it a lot.
