Hi Kapaoke

The stone looks very promising, is it from an online vendor or from a store jeweller? Images such as Idealscope would be good to confirm the numbers if the diamond is being sold online, some vendors will provide these images on request.

Numbers look promising.

its online vendor but they don''t provide sarin or idealscope

One more question.. should i inscribe it if i decide to buy?

anyone?

You could do if you wish if the stone isn''t inscribed, there is normally a charge for this I believe.

I wouldn''t inscribe unless you have a big need to. Individual plots for diamonds are unique to each stone it wouldn''t really provide a great deal of additional security for the future, and beyond that its just an extra expense.

IMO it helps to ID the stone faster (like having a vin number on your car)
I had my 1.4 inscribed after Neil Beaty looked it over and gave me the 411.

Agreed - if you want to ID your stone buy a loupe and memorize the inclusion plot. Any ID lasered or etched into the girdle can be buffed out, the inclusion plot isn't gonna change

ETA: The serial number on the girdle is a little bigger when the girdle is thicker, making it easier to see. I don't know that you'd have an easy time finding any inscriptions on a thin-med girdle with a regular 10x loupe - finding the characteristic inclusion might well be easier, even in a VS1!

While it is true that an inscription can be polished off of the girdle edge of a diamond with a diamond polishing wheel, the fact is that most inscriptions serve to assist consumers with identifying their diamond ''easily'' when dropping it off or picking it up from their jeweler... For this reason, I''m a fan of inscriptions and prefer diamonds which have been inscribed because when used in conjunction with the inclusions within a diamond, it does make it easier for people to verify a diamond.

The cost of having a diamond inscribed is relatively insignificant, there are several companies which offer inscription services... Some independent appraisers offer the service as well. Definitely do it only after deciding to keep the diamond.
