We have a TV in the bedroom, but only put it there because it used to be in the old family room and we didn''t know where else to put it and we happened to have the perfect spot.

I hardly ever watch it though, although I am sure my husband watches alot more, especially when I am at work at night.

When my FI and I bought our condo, I really didn''t want a TV in our bedroom. We had two and we were going to put them in the living room and the guest room. Then my FI talked me into putting the second TV in our bedroom. No, it''s not the prettiest thing in the room but it is good to have now, especially if one of us is sick. It''s also good to know that if we want to watch separate shows, we can do that without arguement (sp?). We don''t use the second TV too often but it''s nice knowing it''s there if needed.

Okay, I''ll be totally sexist here!

I''d definitely say no to a tv if my DH was pushing for it, but if I wanted one, it would be okay by me. I agree with the others that it might be an unwanted distraction.

Truth is, we have had one in our bedroom for years, and it''s never been any kind of problem whatsoever, so I am not against it personally at all. I''d say fine as long as it was discreet--ours is in an armoire. But it''s all totally up to you.

I have always been very against having a t.v. in the bedroom. My DH would LOVE to have one but this is one issue I won''t budge on, so he has pretty much given up.

My reasoning is that the bedroom is for sleeping, sex and sometimes reading. Period. I have a hard enough time going to sleep without further distractions. I know that my DH (who always falls asleep watching t.v., where I cannnot) would be watching every night if that was an option.

That being said, I think every couple is different, and what works for us, may not be right for you.

It''s totally up to you guys!

We have a TV in our bedroom, but it''s hidden by an armoire so honestly we usually forget about it. We turn it on maybe... twice a month? So I suppose it''s nice to have if you''re sick in bed. Maybe if the TV were in plain sight we would think to turn it on more often. I do not think that it''s a love ruiner or something crazy like that, unless one of you is addicted to TV

We have a TV in our bedroom and I probably couldn''t live without it. It is on my side of the bed so I can turn the volume down very low when I watch. DH falls asleep easily and sleeps like a log, but I have a very stressful job, and many nights if I just lie there in the dark and try to sleep I have all these thoughts running through my head about everything I still have to do and how little time I have left to do it. I set the timer on the TV when I go to bed, and the show will distract me enough that I can turn my head off and drift off to sleep.

I''m against it. We watch enough TV as is and only have one in the living room. I imagine having one in the bedroom would just make the matter worse.

When DH and I first lived together, I was totally anti-tv, period. I wasn''t a tv watcher growing up, and I had always heard tv in the bedroom was a no-no for many of the reasons already listed here. DH, otoh, HAS to have tv to fall asleep to, loves tv, has to have it, etc. So we have had a tv in the bedroom for about 5 years now...can''t have him sleeping on the couch because he can''t fall asleep in the bed, ya know. It really hasn''t been an issue. I read to fall asleep, he watches tv. We''re on pretty much the same sleep schedule, so 15-20 minutes of tv and reading a night and we''re both out.
