what do you think? 3 carat E I1

No....several reasons....crown angle way too low (chipping risk), pavilion angle too high, the stone is too deep, IGI report so the color is highly likely to be 2-3 color grades lower than stated...there's also no way the stone is eye clean with the big black inclusion right on the table.

Thank you I never thought of the colour grading discrepancy!

Black carbon inclusions make this stone look like a spotted hyena! RUN AWAY!!
The IGI lab report is another indication to steer clear, not to mention the afore mentioned angle issues, and likely lower color grade for “E”.
I must add: HCA Tool indicates that those with a score under or equal to 2 are to be considered. That’s not saying that anything over 2 isn’t worth considering, but the score over 3 + all of the other red flags is a lethal combination...for any size diamond, especially one of such honking proportion!!
Gah!! :eek2:

If you give us your parameters/preferences, we can certainly help you find a good stone that will make the world drool!!

Im looking for a 3 carat but Im on a budget!!!
Looking at J K L

LOL Spotted Hyena!!!

I would buy D E or F, but not an I1 nor that stone. Did you also notice how out of round it is? Off by .16mm

John Pollard has said on the forum here, that IGI is very accurate with their grades and are used a lot in Asia now, I know it is the major lab used in the UK too.

This is a really nice round brilliant...close to 3 carats, great numbers/clarity...lower color (something has to give in your budget)

This is a nice stone, and while it’s a lighter weight than the 3.02ct you posted (it’s 2.71ct), it’s actually the same SIZE as the 3.02. They face up the same on your hand. But this one will sparkle it’s head off and won’t show black goobers ever you time you look at it. M stones aren’t bad. I helped my friend buy an excellent cut stone, and he settled on an M in order to maximize the size. It’s tinted but not yellow...but it’s also set in yellow gold.

BUDGET just went up!!!!
Hubby says go to $20,000 CAN$ hopefully that helps
ok should be easier

Willing to go a bit smaller but I really don't want an M
K or L I hope

OP, I had an M that I was completely happy with color wise! I would much prefer to go to an M and have a beautiful stone than an I1 black inclusion.
