Hey, here is another diamond from ERD. What do you guys think?

It''s a 1.51 carat, H color, SI1 clarity.
Excellent polish, very good symmetry, and faint fluorescence
Measurements: 7.00 x 6.68 x 4.29 mm

A bit to squarish for "my" taste buds..., I like them a bit curvier...

Here''s another picture Mark sent me.

I really love the squarish look tho. If too curvy I feel like they might start looking like ovals!

It IS a matter of taste...,

, but take into consideration that curvier 1:1 +/- ratio can NEVER look like an oval...

Quick question, do you think ERD sizes run big? I know another girl had to have her ring sized down too. I''m a size 5, and I''d like it a little bigger...like 5.25 and I don''t know if I should size it at 5.25 if they run big...

Thanks!

THank you! Ring and stone both from ERD. Will you be having your ring made there as well?

Yes, I''ll be getting the setting there also. I''m going to get the Stephanie setting...which is the Sophia setting but with single prongs!

Haha, after reading this forum for the past 3 months, I have been forewarned about his horrible pictures so I didn''t take them too much to heart. And yes, I completely trust his eyes!

Yea, the table is 66% and I brought it up with Mark, but he said it''s a really nice and lively stone...so I''m just going with his judgment...

Isn't the table on that stone a little large? I think I prefer smaller tables such as this one (just for comparing cut):

I've noticed that with these 4 pavilion main stones, Mark's been selecting them with tables in the 60's, whereas he seems to go with tables in the 50s for the 8 pavilion main modern style cushions. Don't know why, but it seems to be a pattern.

ETA: I like it and that setting you've chosen is one of my faves on his site! Prrrrty!

Going with his expertise in choosing some nice stones is fine. But you do not have to choose from a selection of one. I would insist on at least one or two more to choose from if it was me. It is YOUR taste and preferences that should determine the final choice.

O, I really like this stone, and I think it''s gorgeous.

He did have another stone to show me, and I do like this one better. But I just ended up giving him all the things I wanted and he was able to find something that fit my criteria...so I would have probably liked anything he showed me.

But you''re right, in a way I wish he had shown me more stones to choose from. But he had a hard time coming up with stones that fit my budget and my criteria and so I appreciate whatever he has found for me.

I went with the stone Mark picked for me and I couldn''t be happier!

my fiance got the ring without my involvement and got what i thought my ring size was (4.25) by using plastic ring sizers i got from overstock (lol, not very reliable!). I had to have the ring sized down to 3.75. When I went to ERD to get it sized they used the standard metal ring sizers that all jewelers have to determine my ring size. I ordered my wedding band in the same size (from Whiteflash) and it fits well so I don''t think their sizes are any different than other places, at least they weren''t for me!
Keep in mind, you really don''t want your ring to fit too loosely, very easy to get lost this way!

Thanks DMBsGirl!
