I'd like to get your opinions on this marquise. I've only been "studying" OMCs and OECs so far, so I really can't figure anything out from a pic of a marquise. Will this type of cut have a strong bowtie? Light leaking? Tilt windows? Shallowness problems?
I don't see a bowtie, and the cut looks nice for a narrower stone, but the crown looks pretty shallow. It might not sparkle much. Both of my marquises have higher crowns.
Pattern looks nice with no bowtie but looking at the last picture, it is as though there is almost no crown at all. Is that the case or is it just the angle of the marquise ring? A high crown gives light more ways to break light and bounce it back to the eye as sparkle. A low crown will give the appearance of a dull and less lively stone.
I was wondering if it was just the photography that made it look like there was no bowtie, glad to hear that it may actually be the cut. But the shallowness is worrisome, so I'll pass on this one I think.
