Hey,

I have been looking for a 0.7 carat round center diamond stone for a three stone Scott Kay ring. I was trying to find something with clarity VS2 or better and color F or better. But I happen to come across option 1) 0.72 IF F for $3729 and I am wondering if it would be better to pay slightly more and go for it or to go for option 2) 0.70 VS2 E for $3300 or keep looking for other 0.7 VS1 or VS2.

Also, if i am looking at a 0.70 VS2 or better stone with F or better color with Ideal Cut, what budget should I be looking at?

Here is what I have so far:

The first one is a 60/60 stone: https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/60-60-proportioned-diamond

That in and of itself is not a bad thing, but it will have a different flavor than a stone with more classic proportions.

The smaller table on the second one will tend to give more fire (colored light return), which some people really like.

Who graded these stones? Can you get idealscope images?

Both of these are graded by GIA. I am unable to get the idealscope image for the 1st one but I have requested for idealscope image on the 2nd one.

When you say that the first one is a 60/60 stone and it may have a different flavor than a stone with more classic proportions, what does that mean? Considering the HCA gave excellent for light return, would that still be an issue with option 1?
