Just thought we needed some new conversations going.

I think my greatest skill is my adaptability. I do think it's a skill because I've known lots of people who can't adapt to anything. I'm able to adapt financially, geographically, and personally fairly easily. I know part of the reason is how much we moved around when I was a kid. I was forced into many situations and had to become comfortable and create happiness. I can find something in common with nearly every person I've met and most people feel at ease with me.

My sense of direction. I can usually look up directions to a place i've never been, not copy them down, and just wing it. Or i can look at a map of where i need to go, and get there w/o looking at it again.

Except when this one friend is in my car. i've gotten lost twice in my life, and both times were so stupid and he was in my car, so i blame him.

I can make people laugh.

I envy you this skill. I get lost in my own neighborhood.

My greatest skill is my ability to delight in the small things in life. I am typically very happy, and I believe this is one big reason why.

ETA: That's not really a skill, is it?
Let me revise: I most value my reading skills. They have shaped my life, and as it is a wonderful shape, I am grateful for them.

My skill to work with just about any animal. I have handled horses, dogs, cats, squirrels, rabbits, turtles, bearded dragons, birds of all kinds. If a bird gets stuck on our porch (happens pretty regularly, sometimes several times a week) it is generally me who catches it and releases it back outside. When our dogs would corner baby rabbits when I was young, I rehabilitated them. I can ride nearly any horse you put in front of me, including horses who are extremely hard for others to ride. My instructor has a mare who most people cannot ride because she is EXTREMELY sensitive, and if you tighten up she WILL take off. I can get her into the quietest pleasure trot imagineable. I have trained all of our dogs. My cat rides around slung around my neck. I've helped raise baby goats, and I had a 400-450 lb pig who just loved me to scratch behind her ears. At Sea World, the dolphins always come close for a visit, and once one threw itself onto the ledge at the edge of the community pool... sort of like the ledges in swimming pools...where there's an inch of water? Yeah, I got to rub all down his side.

I don't know what it is.... I don't really know why.... but I love animals... and I'm glad they like me a little too. ;))

df~ My best friend from high school has your skill too. I've always admired that. It's like she can talk to them or something.

I could run a business googling things for people and searching for online deals.

I'm a good rhymer. :rodent:

As far as skills that actually do something for me, it's probably my presentation/public speaking skills. I don't bore and always have fun. But I've been doing it for 12 years, so that probably helps.

I like my organizational skills. I'm good at getting things sorted, structured and under control and then getting things done. It makes me feel satisfied.
I can't imagine what if would be like to not feel in control of everything *shudder*

According to people I know in real life, I have a "magnetic personality" so does that count?

Really my only true skill is being a ridiculously deep thinker. I spend most of my time on the very edge of reality trying to describe the thoughts I have without an education. And I know that sounds a bit psycho, but really my brain belongs deep in the field of cosmology - either astrophysics or quantum mechanics and yet my body is a suburban mom. Philosophy isn't dead, it just has a new language. Goodbye logic, hello physics!

I think thats pretty damn cool. Nothing psycho about it.

These are more qualities than skills, but...

I have a lot of patience with children.

In my personal life, I'm actually not sure what it would be. My husband would probably say that my loyalty to friends and family is a great quality.

My ability to make a good cocktail

In my professional life, I'd say that my best skill is that I'm fun to work with. I work with very intelligent and motivated people who often take a project very seriously, so I make an effort to step back a little and make it fun. Every year when I am reviewed I score highest under interpersonal skills. I'm fully aware that I'm not going to be the most intelligent analyst at my agency, but I do want to be a person that people love to work with.

In my personal life, I'd have to say that it's my ability to run a household. The house is my domain and I enjoy running it. I do the menu planning, the shopping, I have all of the chores down to a science and most importantly, I take care of the day-to-day financials. I run it like a profitable business and while I don't always love the chores themselves, I do like how efficient I've become over the years.

LOL Thank you :) I don't tend to open with that at cocktail parties ;))

I have a few of the skills listed but they didn't cross my mind... I'm good with directions but animals sometimes are intimidated by me - I would never hurt one but I don't have that special something something for sure. I also have pretty good wit, people usually laugh around me (hopefully not AT me lol) I'm going back to school when we get back to the us. CAN!NOT!WAIT!

Getting people to talk. I work in a pretty stressful environment, one where suicide gets contemplated pretty regularly. I always have my ears open, and people just unload, and feel better.

Kids feel really comfortable around me. I don't know why but normally shy kids crawl right into my lap, screaming babies pass out in my arms and for some reason they just seem to gravitate towards me. I am not really sure how this came to be but I know that my friends who have kids LOVE it. LOL. I always get the cranky baby that won't sleep. Would it be bad if I said that I just eat it up? Shh...don't tell, though. ;))

My logic & quick thinking.

Reader: I find that too - people tend to open up to me, completely uninvited.

This has to be the most enviable skill I have read today. How lovely :appl: .

Awww,shucks...*kicks ground* Thank you, Steal. :praise:

I would have to say my ambition. I never let anything stop me from achieving/getting what I want in (and out of) life.

I am good at judging a person's character and have yet to be proven wrong. I make instant connections with people--or not.

Square pegs in round holes, or visa versa, time after time. Problem solver by default.
I have prevented a few murders by listening carefully...that is, me being murdered, by one particularly dangerous spouse.

Harnessing wrath into a raw propulsive force that destroys all challengers.

Seriously, the anger-fueled life has done wonders for me. :sun:
