Coffee or tea at the coffee shop
fashion magazines or gossip rags
brand new books
brand new cars
drinks out to eat or at a club

I have another one! I just discovered I hate spending money on socks, even the $5 pack of 100 seems like too much to pay for socks. Weird, I know.

For me personally, anything to do with "cleavage enhancement".

(My fiance may disagree

Food. You always need more and it''s gone in a second.

My Lexus will be 8 yrs in May... and I plan on driving it for the next 2 years before getting a new car.

My mom has had 2 Jaguars... drove one for 10 years, and the other is going on 8 years now.

I don't understand the basis of saying you need a new car after 6 years?
I am glad your cars last a long time for you. I don't know where you live, but here in NH, the winters are really harsh. When you commute 1 hr to work and back, it does take a toll on any car. I can put so many miles on a car in one year, that to me, spending $$$ on a car ( pretty much any car ) to me, is not worth it. When I said this, I didn't mean to insult anyone ( or you ). THat is my own opinion.
I completely understand. My sisters ex-husband grew up in NH, and eventhough he made $500k a year at the time, he still didn't want her purchasing anything nicer than a Infiniti. They were living in Newport Beach, CA at this point.

We live in Texas, BTW. We can get some nasty ice, but our winters are far from *hard*

Designer clothes for kids. My son is just as happy wearing stuff from Target & Old Navy as he would be wearing Ralph Lauren.

I have a friend who ONLY buys European designer clothes for her one year old, and has since he was born. She wouldn''t need to work but actually works part time just to dress her baby! I''m talking $150 sweaters that he outgrows after wearing twice, and that''s the only kind of stuff he owns. Plus, she buys TONS, so it''s not like she''s buying a few high-quality pieces - some of the stuff he outgrows before he even gets to wear it.

It would be less of a problem I guess if they could easily afford it, but her & her husband are in debt, and they have no college fund set up for the kid. I think spending that type of money on kid''s clothes is seriously dumb. I wonder if her son, upon reaching age 18, will remember the fancy outfits, or wish he had money for college instead ...

Me too! Ha I can''t believe I forgot that in my original post in this thread! It annoys me every time I have to buy socks and I always complain about it to my husband and sister! They are just not worth the $!

I also dislike buying underwear and bras, but not as much as I hate buying socks!

sneakers!! my limit is $30 for a pair.

A CAR! It''s such a money sucker to maintain and fill the tank. Then you''ve got auto insurance, paying for parking, possible parking and traffic violation tickets, car wash, etc...I can''t bring myself to purchase one. Good walking shoes and public transit have served me well. I''ll have to rethink this when fi and I move to the ''burbs and start a family though...

Cosmetics, all that money and work and it washes away in a minute.

Designer clothes. They wear out.

My daughter, however, thinks jewelry is a waste, and loves clothes and makeup.

Food. It goes in one end and out the other (to be blunt).

I wish I could say I think food is waste of money, but I just love it way too much

I have a problem spending money on new undergarments (socks, bras, knickers, etc).

Clothes for work, video games/CD's, upgrades for your car (i.e., rims), this list could go on and on.

I'm not one to pay full-price for things, especially clothing.

ETA: Candles. I love them, but once they're gone, they're gone
