What do u call this type of ring style with the sides open?

Re: What do u call this type of ring style with the sides op

Split shank. It looks unisex to me.

Unisex? So I take it that's not good.

Because of the split/open shank, it feels more feminine. If it were a solid shank, it would appear (to me) as more manly.

I think it looks fine for a man.
But it depends on what you are comfortable with.

Have you tried it on? I could see it as unisex, but the color of the topaz isn't all that feminine.....to me. The design looks masculine (again, to me) and I suspect someone saved on gold ($$$) by doing the split shank rather than white gold of enough substance to support the ring in a heavy traditional men's ring style. I also wonder how many people would actually see the split shank as the stone and diamonds seem to take center stage. Also, the gallery looks masculine. Just taking it apart and adding up the pieces.....my vote: a contemporary man's ring.

Are you going to wear it on your middle finger?

Ring finger is an alternative. However, only you can decide on how it should be worn to suit your taste and preference.

You need surgery to replace your female genitals with male ones.

This is very serious.

Re: What do u call this type of ring style with the sides op

I like it. The split shank make it lighter and more contemporary that the closed sides, which might have made it look a little dated and old fashioned.

How you wear is up to you - how do you feel best? I like heavier rings on the middle finger or as pinkie rings (of course, this ring would be too large for your pinkie if it fits the middle ring). There aren't many rules for wearing jewelry and the ones that exist are made to be broken. Wear your ring the way you like best!

Re: What do u call this type of ring style with the sides op

It's certainly not dainty by PS standard, but I think it looks pretty good on you!

Re: What do u call this type of ring style with the sides op

I like it; i'd wear it; i'm female.

:Up_to_something: I thought it means you have both.

Blue, what about soldering 2 yellow gold bars in the empty space to break up the void like in the rings attached? You don't have to do do a full lattice but maybe just a couple bars diagonally. Just a suggestion.

This is a good idea!
