what do the price stats mean?

Are the price stats on this site meant to reflect the prices available at a wholesale/inter-trade level or after the retail markup is applied by online sellers? If they are wholesale prices then what is a reasonable markup?

If you mean this price stats section here on pricescope then, according to the description given (pls. see below), the pricing compilation is based on retail prices (i.e. markup already included, after wholesale price). The diamonds and their respective prices listed on this website are for retail sale only.

PriceScope presents this Price Report with average and lowest per-carat prices taken from all the (+250,000) stones listed here. This is real time information for your benefit.
