Hi all,
I'm never bought jewellery before, so I've tried to do my research on diamonds before buying an engagement ring. It's much more complex than I would have imagined before I started. I'm just about to pull the pin and buy this stone, but I wanted to check in to see if I'm making a dumb move before I do it!
Ok, the stone specs:
- It's a 0.73 carat Round Brilliant with a recent GIA certificate
- F in Color
- SI1 in Clarity
- 59.4% depth
- 59% table
- Cut grade: Excellent
- Girdle: TN-MD
- Culet: None
- Polish: VG
- Symmetry: EX
- Fluorescence: None
- Crown Angle: 34 degrees
- Pavillion Angle: 40.6 degrees
I'm going to put it into a white gold solitaire setting with a 2.5mm wide band. The size of the ring will be 7.5.
I've run it through pricescope's Holloway Cut Adviser, and it scored Excellent across all categories, with a 0.9 overall score.
The cost for just the stone is US$3475. What do people think - a fair price?
Thanks!
Bryce.
