My studs are 2-ish ctw cushions. When I first got them, I though they looked HUGE. Now that I am more used to them, I think I could definitely wear bigger stones some day. But that day is far, far away...

If you don't wear studs, choose "none".

If you have more than one pair, choose the cttw. of the most frequently worn pair.

If you want studs but don't own them, please share with a post your desired size :))

Would also love to hear if you are happy with the size of your studs or if you would like larger or smaller one day.
I have .33tw that I rarely wear. I don't need anything bigger than that.

My studs are 0.70 to 0.74. I can't quite remember. I have 3 pieces of jewellery that I've never fallen out of love with, my studs are 1 of them. I wear them nearly every day. I knew from the moment that I got them that I'd someday want a bigger pair, and I still do and am working on it.

I have BGD .89ctw studs and I love them! They are K colored (to maximize size with the budget I had) and I have never wished that they were whiter. I think they look great for everyday wear.

.50ctw. I really like this size. I would *not want bigger than 1/2 carat in each ear and honestly probably less.

I love my .87cttw BGD studs. Thinking about jackets... but it's only in the "thinking" phase! :Up_to_something: ;))
You have me "thinking", Ms. Enerchi! But in reality, I will be "thinking" for a while. I wouldn't say DSS has hit, but I will say I'm not surprised when I see my earrings on my ears.

I am currently wearing .65 each (5.65mm, 1.30 ctw). It is a comfortable size for me to wear anytime, but I could handle .80, 6mm stones. I really decided to go with the 1.5 ct. hoops instead of getting larger studs, though. This way I have two pair with different looks.

Diamondseeker, as fond as I am of studs, I would not be parted from my diamond hoops!

I wear a pair of .25 studs in my second hole each day. I would love a bigger pair for my first hole. Most days, I don't wear anything in the first hole, but sometimes I put in my diamond hoops. I think 1-1.5 would be amazing.

My studs are .8 cttw and I have two pairs of them due to double piercings. I just received a pair of jackets for one pair of the studs. It really pumps up the volume! I'm very glad that I did it ;))

I switch between my 0.7cttw and 1.85cttw pairs. I think I'd also like to get jackets to take the oomph up a notch when desired.

Kama, which pair do you find yourself reaching for most often? I have 0.70tw and am putting together 1.50tw. I'm starting to wonder if I'll wear both pairs.

I;ve got 1cttw and 1.5cttw and I find that I reach for the smaller ones way more often.

I actually wear both equally. I love the versatility in the sizes, when I want to dress up i wear the bigger ones and when I'm wearing a chunky necklace or bracelets, I opt for the smaller size. So really, just about 50-50.

So yes, you will definitely want (and need!) both pairs.

I currently have .72cttw BGD bezels. I love them but my dream studs would be 1.5cttw eight prong martinis

Years ago, WF carried pink diamond earring jackets. I wish I had the foresight to buy then....

I don't wear studs.

Because everyone else wears studs, that's why.

I have dangle earrings, each have 2 prong set asscher diamonds, one on top of the other, like a tiny stack of 2 presents. On each earring, the top one is 1/4 ct, the bottom is 1/2 ct. So total 1.5 cttw, dangling from yellow gold. They are my go-to. When I give them a good shine the 2 asschers blend together and look almost like a big emerald cut.

Definitely no studs for me.

I don't have real diamond studs, but I wear 2ctw "faux" studs, which have totally spoiled me to to point where any real diamond stud purchases would have to be at least in the 1.5 ctw, which is why I'm still saving up :)

Thanks Deia and Kama! I told myself I'd sell the small ones when I got the big ones, but I feel sad every time I think about parting with them. I matched them myself and put so much effort into getting them just right - the stones, the settings - that I think I was looking for an excuse to keep them. It's good to know that they'll most likely still be a staple!

I wear my bezeled 1.3's daily. As in, take them off to clean them. They are perfect, and I love them so much!! They are my graduation upgrade from my .75's, and I didn't wear them one single time after getting my new ones. I sold them on DB.

I have my rose gold BGD bezel 3 cttw studs ( my moms that I got when she passed away last year) and a pair of .50 cttw princess studs, my oldest son gave me years ago. I wear the princess in my second hole sometimes and the bigger ones virtually every day!

My first pair of diamond studs were the pair of 32cttw I got for my 16th birthday.... get it 16 points each? I wore those puppies everyday for years, because I theoried I might meet someone who would not know I had diamond earrings :naughty:

I also own a pair of 2cttw studs that have been put away for my daughters 30th b'day. Unless I decide to use them as side stones for a three stone!! :cheeky:

I can't quite answer the poll because I have a few pairs and wear them all, in a sort of rotation. I don't like the idea of unworn diamonds.

I have:

ideal cut RB studs at just under 1cttw (can't remember what they are exactly) which I wear with jackets but which no longer thrill me much.

1.19cttw pair of emerald cut studs which I adore, and which are about as big as I personally want for studs. Only disadvantage to them is that I need a pendant to match.

Smaller rb pair at 0.50cttw which don't bowl me over, but I think that is more to do with my falling very much out of love with round diamond lately, and moving towards loving some of the more unusual cuts and shapes instead.

a pair of 0.50cttw princess cut studs in 24kt YG hand made bezels from a local artisan jeweller, which I love (mostly because they were a gift from my husband way back in our first year living together).

I also have hoops, sapphire dangles and pear shaped diamond dangles in the rotation.

Writing this out makes me think that my earring obsession is worse than I suspected. My plan for the longer term is to re-set the EC studs in pink diamond halo settings, sell the RBs and get some old cut studs at around 1cttw or a little less. I don't like the look of big studs on me, although I'm ok with bigger earrings of different styles. I think I like my studs to look discrete, but my earrings to make a statement (am I making any sense at all here??).

wow, those all sound beautiful! :appl:

I have two pairs now - 2.5ctw OECs in 8prong martinis and 0.1ctw RBs in bezels. The baby bezels are my go-tos for pretty much everything. I've worn the bigger pair exactly four times since I got them set - which is still twice more than I wore my old 1ctw OECs, so there's that...

I dunno. I don't like my current 8prong settings at all but I'm not willing to cough up for custom work, so I'm sure that's part of it. That and the fact that I apparently just like the little guys best! Besides, they were gifts from DH's parents, and they're always happy to see me wearing them ::)

Yssie, why don't you like your 8 prong settings?

I don't wear any! Someday, maybe. I like fakey's.

I went from .10ctw, to .50ctw, to 1.12ctw to 2.13 ctw then to none. All gone.

LOVE LOVE LOVE earrings and have many favorite pairs; I just no longer love diamond studs on me.

cheers--Sharon

In addition to my studs, I have a pair of diamond leverback earring, 1.12 ctw. They are very beautiful and I love wearing them, too :))

My studs are .62 cttw. It's the perfect size for me -- I tried a pair of .5 cttw on for size and they didn't look quite big enough, but anything larger on my ears looks a bit gaudy to me. I eventually want to get a couple pairs of drops so I can dress them up when I want to, but otherwise I'm happy.

Stock settings designed for stones w/ a whole lot more booty than mine ::)

Trouble is, I'm gonna run into that with any stock setting, so it'll have to be a custom job - and I don't like the custom job pricetag :cheeky:

Mine are 1.12 per ear. I wouldn't mind getting larger ones, but it isn't a priority.
