what Color diamond studs for yellow gold earring setting?

Hi everyone. I love yellow gold and am on the market for diamond stud earrings in a yellow gold setting. Please advise me regarding diamond color in a yellow gold setting.

I am wondering if I should go as near colorless as possible in order to compensate for the yellow gold basket, or if even an E color would look yellowish in yellow gold, in which case I should save money and go with a warmer color diamond.

I have G, VS2 diamonds in an 18k yg setting. I didn''t see any reason to go into the colorless category. I think they look great.

I''m less concerned about color in studs than in rings, I think you could go down all the way to a J if you wanted to. There would be warmth from the side, but face up is what counts for studs.
